She was born on January 10, 1961, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Meredith D. Powell of Ruckersville and Mildred M. "Patsy" Taylor of Ruckersville.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughters, Tiffany N. Powell and her fianc‚, Floyd Alston and Jamie N. Garrett and her husband, Kevin; her siblings, Delano Powell, Duane Eppard and his wife, Tammy, and CJ Taylor and his wife, Jamie; and stepsister, Melinda Taylor Shifflett. She was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Powell; stepfather, James Taylor; and three aunts, Betty Thomas, Frances Roberts and Nan Koontz. Linda loved to play bingo, cards and pull the slots in West Virginia, with her very special partners in crime that she thought of like sisters, Jeannie, Patty, Joyce and Linda Koontz. Special thanks to a special family member and friend, Donna Powell for being there throughout her whole battle with cancer day in and day out.

Thanks to Pastor Tim Duggins and members of Mountain View Chapel for all of his guidance and support to Linda and the family during her long battle. Also thanks to Hospice and Martha Jefferson Hospital caregivers for their care and support. Linda wanted to personally thank her co-workers, supervisors and friends at Tiger Fuel for their support throughout her battle with cancer. She also wanted to personally say thank you to Stephanie for her support in my time of need. You were a great friend.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
