Linda Schafer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 16, 2025.
Linda Dianne Schafer, 74, of Raymore MO, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Born on November 18, 1950, Linda graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1968. In 1978, she married the love of her life, Michael Schafer. Together, they built a beautiful life, raised five children, and were blessed with eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Linda cherished time spent with her family and loved ones. Summers at the lake were among her favorite memories, where she enjoyed skiing and gathering with her parents and extended family. She also had a passion for travel, exploring destinations such as Germany, Israel, Greece, Cancun, the Bahamas, and numerous states across the U.S., which was made possible through the business she and Michael owned together.

Known for her loving and giving nature, she always put others' needs before her own, offering a listening ear or comforting hug. Her home was a haven not only for her family but also for her children's friends. Linda made sure everyone felt welcome and cared for. She was a woman whose sweetness and kindness knew no bounds, but it was her spunky, sassy spirit that truly set her apart.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur "Spence" and Nancy Spencer, her brother Mitchell Spencer, and her daughter Jessica Schafer. She is survived by her devoted husband Michael Schafer, children Mandy Hunter, Tabby (Jason) Hafley, April Schafer, and Jesse Schafer, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister Karen (Mark Elliott) Spencer, brother James (Marcia) Spencer, and many other extended family members.

Please join us to celebrate her life on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025, at Eagle Creek Church 125 SE Stuart Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64082. Visitation will be held from 6 - 7 PM with service to follow.
