Linda Sue Seifert

We met Linda through Art, with whom Peter stayed during his exchange student year 1960-61. Over the years we have been fortunate to visit Art and Linda in their various homes during visits to the US. Linda clearly was a strong center in the gradually spreading Seifert clan, together with Art making sure that the wider family stayed connected. She easily widened this net of easy togetherness also to us, making visits more like coming to a second home than a trip to a foreign country. She gave us a rare and valued opportunity to experience a US family life from the inside for which we always will remain grateful.

Travel to and with her family was important to Linda as were the beauty and nature of the American landscape. We particularly recall her interest in local birds and photogenic scenes during Linda's and Art's stay at King of Prussia and Oak Island. We are very sad at her passing away and hope that her memory will help her family stay even closer toghether. We also offer our sincere condolences to Art as well as to their children with families.

Linda and Art joined our Life Long Learners group at Barbee Library years before Covid hit. She obviously loved history; her comments and ideas added very much to our discussions. I particularly appreciate the beautiful obituary so lovingly written; therein was portrayed a person I had not had opportunity to get to know. She participated enthusiastically in our group and social activities. We will miss that! My sincere sympaties to Art and your family. Be comforted in knowing that so many people appreciated Linda and support you.

Linda was so special to all of us cousins. She took such an interest in our lives and kept in touch. I was the flower girl in her and Art's wedding when I was 7. Linda was the flower girl in my mom and dad's wedding when she was a little girl. We got to celebrate with them for their 50th wedding anniversary where their granddaughter at age 7 wore my flower girl dress at the celebration. I will miss her. My heart and prayers are with Art and the boys and their wives and kids. Thank you for being such a wonderful cousin to me.

I first met Linda shortly after retiring to Oak Island in 2018. I was browsing in the OKI Senior Center and Linda was on volunteer duty that day. I learned that her "duty" related to the Center offering her son's photography book for sale. At the time I didn't realize Linda was a co-author. Having been born in Philadelphia and having lived in California, Linda and I found various things to chat about that afternoon. One thing she encouraged me to attend was the Life Long Learners Group at the library on Oak Island. I enjoyed seeing Linda there from time to time and meeting the other members of the group. The last thing I remember was her planning the Skip Christmas trip to Italy. I hope that was a wonderful trip for the entire family and that fond memories of Linda will be abundant for them. It was a treat to know Linda, even for a short time.

The Last time I saw Linda was in 1969. She was at that time living in Arizona and enjoying the life of a Mother and wife. She was amazing and just enjoying her children. My condolences to those that will be with out her in there lives.

Linda was a warm and generous friend, and a gentle soul. During our friendship on Oak Island, which began by our mutual interest in history and genealogy, she always had something insightful to share, making our time together so interesting.

I worked side by side with Linda. She was always fun, energetic and a positive influence. She was a mentor and confidant to me and many others. We also became great personal friends. I got to know many of you through my daily interactions with her over the years. I think of her often and I will always remember her. I'll miss her and her annual holiday updates. My thoughts are prayers are with you.

Linda was a dear, dear friend of mine in high school. I admired her brilliant mind and kindness. Linda and I were in the band and enjoyed many happy times together. I am so sorry to hear of her passing! It is implied that she had Alzheimer's. Here is a picture taken during high school of our little group of band friends.
