Linda Sirera Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 28, 2025.
Linda Rose Sirera gained her angel wings on August 13, 2025, in Austin, Texas. Linda was born in Mandeville, LA, on July 11, 2000, to her loving mother, Valerie Pickering. She was welcomed by her fiercely protective big sister, Lindsey, and phenomenal grandparents, Don and Carolyn Guier.

To know Linda was to know the depths of her sass, wit, and marvelous sense of humor. A fervently loyal friend, Linda left a little bit of sunshine everywhere she went. She loved her family, her cat, Merlot, her boyfriend, Michael and her many, MANY friends from across the country. Linda also enjoyed an incredibly close relationship with her mother, Valerie, her best friend and confidant. From binge-watching Schitt's Creek to splurging on Chili's triple dippers and getting their nails done, the two never ran out of things to talk about or adventures to plan.

Linda grew up in Mandeville, LA, until Hurricane Katrina led her family on a new path to The Woodlands, TX. There, Linda and her family met their stepfather, Harold, who stepped up from day one to love and support her, the depths of which were demonstrated when he built her a 10-foot knife-throwing board in the backyard so she could emulate her literary hero, Clove, from The Hunger Games. (Although her sister, Lindsey, still suspects more sinister motives quite literally aimed in her direction…).

Linda graduated from The Woodlands High School with honors and attended Baylor University on an academic scholarship. It was there that Linda found her sisterhood, Kappa Alpha Theta, and her soul sister, Catherine, who filled Linda's college years with boisterous laughs, outrageous memories, and pure joy.

Linda moved to Austin, TX, beginning her career at Oracle and later joining Adobe. She led with kindness while succeeding in the business world and quickly amassed a group of incredible friends and coworkers. Work brought two of the greatest gifts to Linda's life: her best friend and roommate, Holly, and her loving boyfriend, Michael.

Her three years in Austin proved to be the happiest of Linda's life; she was surrounded by her ride-or-die BRAT squad, traveled to Italy, explored Austin's many restaurants, crushed the competition at Orange Theory and adopted her precious cat, Merlot.

If brevity is the soul of wit, Linda's life is the quintessence of joy. She was profoundly loved, and she will be even more profoundly missed. But know that wherever there are sunflowers, sass, sloths, or well-fed raccoons, there is Linda.

In lieu of flowers, we ask friends and family to contribute to the Austin Chamber Music Center, and to write in Linda's name as the honoree. The funds will be directed towards scholarships for young pianists in Linda's honor.
