Linda W. Sohn

Linda W. Sohn, 78, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on March 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 4, 1947, to Marybelle and John A.C. Woodard of the Baylake Pines community of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Linda's heart was as vast as her love for her family. A devout Christian, she found strength and guidance in her faith throughout her life.

Linda earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Old Dominion University, where she met the love of her life, Baxter Sohn, whom she was married to for more than 55 years. Their journey took them across the country, living in Texas, Kentucky, Virginia, and North Carolina, before settling in Indiana for the past 40 years. Though distance separated her from her hometown of Virginia Beach, Linda remained deeply connected to her family there. She shared an unwavering bond with her mother, Marybelle Woodard, who sadly passed away only three weeks prior on February 19. Linda spoke with her daily, and visits to her childhood home in Virginia were frequent over the years, where cherished memories were made with her family that will last forever.

Linda's children were her world, and her love for them knew no bounds. Her gentle spirit, joking nature, and boundless kindness made everyone around her feel loved and cared for. Linda's love for the ocean, which she inherited from her father, Chuck, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, was passed on to her family through special vacations, particularly to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Hawaii. These trips were filled with Linda's warmth and humor that will live on in the hearts of her family.

Linda is survived by her husband, Baxter Sohn; her children, Christine Deihl, Wendy Sohn, and Jaime Sohn; and her grandson, Johnny Deihl. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Deihl, and her parents.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462, at noon on March 22. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Linda's memory to the GRRACE Golden Retriever Rescue in her honor.
