Linda Mary Walters, age 88, of Salem, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025. Born in Billericay, England, on May 5, 1937, Linda embarked on a remarkable journey when she moved to the United States in 1959 with her beloved husband, Willie Walters, a member of the military. Together, they built a life rooted in love, resilience, and devotion.
Linda was predeceased by her husband Willie, her son Gary Walters, grandson Mark Lakich, and five older brothers. She is survived by her daughter Loraine Lakich and son-in-law Dan; her devoted friend Zondra Kelly, who was like a daughter to her; and her grandchildren Joshua M. Wilcox, Angela Walters, Garrett Walters, and Jennifer Litzenberger.
Linda lived in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, before settling in Salem, South Carolina, where she cultivated not only a beautiful home, but a life filled with warmth and care. She had an extraordinary gift for growing things-her flower gardens were a testament to her green thumb and her deep connection to nature. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she found joy and companionship in the pets she lovingly cared for throughout her life.
Her legacy is one of quiet strength, nurturing love, and an enduring appreciation for life's simple beauties. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and lovingly remembered for the grace and kindness she brought into the world.
A private memorial will be held by the family to honor Linda's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter in her memory.
