I've known Lacy about 50 years. He was always interested and helping youth in the community. He would ask young people what you doing now, you working, you need a job, working keeps out of trouble give me a call. I'll miss hi greetings back then of hey kid you alright then as I got older hey beautiful hows the kids you turned out alright. I will miss my friend.

Mr. Lacey Jones showed much love to the children in my community while growing up as a child in Atherton Terrace. He took us to the YMCA and activities at Stewart School, for some of us it was our only adventure. May he rest in eternal peace.

Lacey was a wonderful man who truly loved his wife and family. I’m going to miss all of the Southside reunion pictures he use to post. He definitely loved his community. God bless his beautiful wife and family. May his soul and spirit be at peace. Rest easy Lacey.

My deepest condolences to the family of Lacey. I pray that God comforts and strengthen you during this difficult time. Lacey was one of my early mentors as a member of the Flint Junior NAACP, as preteen and teenager my parents entrusted our well-being in his hands. We learned a lot about life, relationships, the importance of civil rights and marching to defeat discrimination while growing up, traveling the country meeting other young adults and having fun. I will cherish those days and the friendship I had with Lacey, he enjoyed life! In our latter years we didn’t see one another often but whenever we did, it was as if time had stood still. Going to miss his humor, remarks and laughter and viewing all the events he captured through the lens of his camera. Rest In Peace, Lacey and may God continue to bless the family.

OMG what a shock to hear about Lacy. Although I talked to Lacy a few months ago while campaigning and he shared a number of “illnesses” he had experienced and we laughed about our older age aches and pains. My sincere condolences to his wife, son, grandchildren and entire family. Is sounded like Lacy had defied the odds on more than a few occasions but we know God makes no mistake. Lacy was “the man in charge” growing up supervising “us wanna be grown kids” but he loved us and kept it 100! There was never any getting anything over on Lacy although we tried at Y. He gave so much of himself to the youth of Flint! He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. RIH Lacy
