Linh Claudio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 14, 2023.
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linh Claudio, who left us peacefully on August 7th, 2023, after a sudden heart attack. Linh was 59 years old, residing in Hoi An, Vietnam, where he was the caretaker for his mother, Lap, and a caring neighbor, a trusted brother, and a beloved father.

Linh was born in Vietnam and moved to the United States as a young boy after the Vietnam War. He became a U.S. citizen in a vibrant household alongside his siblings Long, Loung, Tien, and Katherine. A person of profound kindness and an unwavering spirit, he brought light and joy to everyone around him. Linh's early years were marked by a genuine curiosity about the world and a passion for learning that never faded.

A dedicated father, Linh's pride and joy was his daughter, Celeste. He was a beacon of guidance and love in her life, and his unwavering dedication to her education was evident to all who knew him. Linh's legacy as a devoted caregiver shone brightly in his care for his mother, to whom he was a pillar of unwavering support.

A brilliant young man, Linh graduated from high school at the age of 16, with a full scholarship to Columbia University. He studied engineering and quickly excelled in his career at a top firm in New York City.

Linh was a man of many interests, including reading, cooking, and maintaining healthy habits through working out. His absence will leave a void in the many lives he touched. His presence was a source of stability, and his counsel will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Celeste; his mother, Lap; all his siblings; his nephew, James; his great-nieces and great-nephews; and his close friend and the mother of Celeste, Sara.

We will gather to honor Linh's life and legacy on November 19th, 2023, at Chua Giác Hoang Temple in Washington, D.C., where memories will be shared.

Linh's memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and he will be profoundly missed. We take comfort in knowing that his legacy will continue through those he loved and the lives he enriched.

Rest in peace, Linh. Your love, laughter, and wisdom will resonate with us always.

A world without Lou. This is devastating news. I just found out today that he's been gone for 2 years. I had not seen him since 2011, but he made an indelible impression on my life. His passion and excitement for arts, culture, and knowledge were absolutely contagious. He was very generous with sharing those things and never showed contempt for people less learned than he. He was uncommonly brilliant, talented, exceptionally clever, quick witted, and fun to be around. I can still hear his laughter and the stories he used to tell. He undoubtedly inspired me. I already missed seeing him and now I never will again. This is a bitter and sorrowful day.

LHC, you were always a close friend. My best memories of you are in hiking boots, a 4X4 truck outside, and we were writing C++ code in the mountains. Hiking, taking photos, teaching us how to cook. But mostly, you showed me the way with your keen mind, kindness, and generous spirit. See you on the other side.
