Lionel Cloutier Obituary
Educated at the University of Ottawa High School. In 1944 Lionel enlisted in the Regiment de la Chaudiere and trained to go overseas. On return from military service he took up a career logging in Northern Ontario. At the start of the Korean War he re-enlisted, this time in the Air Force, because he was tired of walking. He progressed from Military Police to Security and Intelligence, and was twice posted overseas. He retired in 1970 with the rank of Captain, and took up the post of Director of Contingency Planning, Police and Security Branch, in the Department of the Solicitor General. After retirement, he took up travelling and spending time at his beloved cottage in the Gatineau Hills.

Lionel is survived by his spouse Zenovia Pankiw and his children Marc (Ruth), Constance (Terry) and David (Janet), grandchildren Jeffrey (Natalie), Emily and Kayla. He leaves behind his brother Lorenzo and his sister Therese (Lalonde) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Lionel was predeceased by his wife Florence (nee Wood), as well as brothers and sisters Pierre, Marguerite (Marchand), Jeanne (Tremblay), Aristide, Isabelle (Forget), Henriette and Paul.
In accordance with his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in early summer. Details will be announced at that time.
