Guillermina (Mina) Vasquez Melchor, 80, of Sutter, passed away on March 31, 2013, peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Mina was a Sutter county resident for 57 years. She was committed to serving Jehovah God and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and loved spending time with the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mina loved pampering her family with her delicious homemade cooked meals.

She is survived by her five children: Manuel V. Melchor Jr., Mary Louise (Jose) Ubias, David Melchor, all of Yuba City, Gloria (Arnulfo) Mejia of Gerber, Andres (Jenny) Melchor of Cottonwood. Four siblings: Ramona Alderete of Lancaster, Andres Vasquez of Mexico, Gonzalo Vasquez and Jose Luis Vasquez, both of Yuba City; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel Leyva Melchor, Sr. and daughter Alicia (Melchor) McLaughlin.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sutter Cemetery. Arrangements are under Chapel of Twin Cities.

You were an amazing woman! You raised six beautiful children with love and devotion. I am forever grateful to you for giving me an amazing husband - Andres. Mary and family, you have my deepest sympathies on your loss. Though I didn't know Guillermina, I knew her daughter Mary. I worked with Mary and she talked about her mother quite a bit. From all the great things Mary said about her mom, she was a very caring and loving person. I wish I would have had the honor of meeting your mother. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless your whole family, now you have a beautiful angel to watch over all of you.
