I am fortunate to spend this past year with him. Got to know alot about the family, history of St Bernard Parish, Katrina and most of all, I was working on my truck one day and I called Pops Lionel with a mechanic question. Without any hesitation, he said, " go ask Bonnie Gonzales Wallace, she knows how to fix it!". Needless to say, I had nothing to day. I guess I had to put on my.big boy undies. Thank you Lionel for the hand of your daughter, I will take good care of her for you. RIP

I am so sorry for your loss, Bonnie. I was telling Danielle about Lionel at your wedding to David. He had a handkerchief in his hand that he kept turning over and over and over, throughout the whole ceremony. I think he was more nervous than you were - and he was trying not to cry.

Pops Lionel, you fought the fought. Thank you for all the stories of hunting and fishing and hangin at the boat ramp. The past 8 1/2 yrs that I have known you have not been enough. Thank you for allowing me the hand of your daughter in marriage. I will take very good care of her.RIP father n law.

My deepest condolences to Bonnie, our daughters Myndie and Danielle and our 6 grandchildren on the loss of Lionel. I just lost my dad in June of last year and know the grief and pain you are all feeling. Lionel was very special to me when I was a young man trying to make my way in the world. He always had a great sense of humor, loved to have fun and shared so much of his knowledge and time with me that it made me a much better man. I know he is with my dad Don in heaven sharing stories as they both liked to do as well as talking about their kids, grandkids and great grandkids that they loved so much. Lionel will be missed.
