LIONEL LINDER Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 20, 2011.
Lionel "Robert" Linder, of Tulare, California, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at his home. He was born in Tulare and was a lifelong resident. Robert was a lover of life and all things family. He dearly loved his best friend and beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Dona. They enjoyed spending hours on the road together, exploring new places in their RV. He was devoted to following in his great-grandfather, grandfather, and father's footsteps in service to the community of Tulare through the farm equipment business. Always going above and beyond in order to meet the needs of others. His son, Tommy and daughter, Carrie were the apple of his eye. In the span of six years, he never missed a band trip with his children. His self sacrifice and strength of character in life will never be forgotten. Robert was preceded in death by his father, David C. Linder; and brother, Reynold Linder. He is survived by his mother, Frances H. Linder; his wife, Dona; children, Tommy and Carrie; grandson Justin; siblings, Diane, Butch and Francine Linder; along with numerous beloved in-laws and loving nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at First Baptist Church, 469 Cherry Street in Tulare on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tulare Joint Union High School Music Dept., 559-688-2021; or Tulare Future Farmers of America, 591 West Bardsley, Tulard, Ca. 93274; or American Heart Assoc., 559-435-5246. A very dedicated father to his kids activities and supporter of all of their great accomplishments..........along with his wife Dona, they were 'top' band booster members during Tommy and Carrie's participation year's in the TU Redskin Band. It was always a joy to see his smile when anybody came into Linder's.
Robert always loved a good laugh about the good 'ole fun days that we had in Camp Nelson with myself and the Muller's.
He wil be dearly missed, and I wish the Linder family the best during this sad time, but the fond memories will never, never leave any of us.
