Lisa Cumber Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 13 to Nov. 22, 2023.
Lisa Ann Cumber, 62, of Rochester, MN, died at home on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, of natural causes.

Lisa was born on December 22, 1960, in Austin, MN to Floyd and Mary Jane (Tindal) Lenoch. She graduated from Pacelli High School in 1978. Following her graduation from high school Lisa enlisted in the Navy. While serving in Hawaii she met and married Steven Cumber, they later divorced. During their marriage, they welcomed daughter Stephanie in July of 1983, later passing away in 2010.

Many of Lisa's most cherished memories were from her time in the Navy. She was proud to serve her country while following in her father's footsteps. Lisa was stationed in Hawaii, Japan, and in the continental United States. After 20 years of service, she was honorably discharged.

Upon returning home to Minnesota, she served as a Navy recruiter in Burnsville. She continued her passion for service when she joined the Austin Police Department as a dispatcher, and later Mayo Clinic Executive Health Department. During her time at these jobs, she developed relationships with coworkers and patients that she greatly cherished. Lisa's family would like her patients to know how much she thought about them, and how much they meant to her.

Lisa greatly enjoyed spending time with family, walking her dogs, and Sunday dinners with her friends.

She is survived by her siblings Lynette Lenoch, Cindy (Rod) Rud, Peggy (Doug) Rempfer, Ed (Annette) Lenoch, Randy (Jeanie) Lenoch; granddaughter Olivia Ellingson; great-grandson Beau Combs; cousin Mark Tindal; special niece, Jane (Eric) Peterson and her family, and many other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mary Lenoch; daughter, Stephanie Ellingson; and brother-in-law, Bob Schwarz.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11:00 am at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. A Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service. A private family internment will take place later.

In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to a veteran's organization of your choosing in her honor.
