Lisa Jane Hanson

After a courageous battle with lung cancer, our sweet mama, Lisa Jane Hanson, age 58, passed peacefully on September 27, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.

Lisa was born October 1st, 1963 to her parents Toni Graeme and David Cowlishaw. She was the 6th of 7 sisters, and together they grew up quickly as they endured more challenges than most would in their lifetime.

Despite the struggles, they were happy amongst themselves as a wild crew of girls and loved playing games and getting into usual childhood trouble. Wherever they were there was always laughter and excitement.

Always wanting a family of her own, Lisa had her first daughter, Naomi, at the young age of 16. Later she had two more daughters, Tonia and Leah, and to the three of them, she gave the love and life that she had always dreamed of.

Her daughters became mothers early on too, and Lisa became Nana to her 9 beautiful grandchildren who were the sunshine of her life and will miss her dearly.

Anyone who met Lisa knew how much her family meant to her. If she wasn't visiting them, she was sharing memories, and if she wasn't talking about them, she was probably worrying about someone she loved. She lived her life caring for others.

Lisa spent the last 3 years doing the things she loved: having sleepovers with her sisters, dancing to live music with her friends, shopping, laughing with her girls, playing cards and giggling with her grand-babies, and simply enjoying life and spreading love to those around her.

She made a positive impact on everyone she met. She was the kindest human and was like everybody's mama because she saw the good in people and chose to love above all else. And if you had the opportunity of meeting her, you will wholeheartedly agree.

Lisa left this world with a heart full of love, a life full of memories, and left behind so much love.

She was everyone's favourite mama, nana, and human being. Her spirit will live on forever, along with her sweet smile, loving heart, calm demeanour and kind soul.

We will always notice her around us as the light and beauty in every day.
