It has been well over a year now and the trial for the young man who tragically struck this beautiful young mother is underway. I wanted to read these memorials once again just to remind myself how precious life is. I also wanted to find a way to honor Lisa, her children, her family, her husband, her friends. Today, for no special reason I am keeping a candle lit for this family. To keep your alive in the hearts and minds of those that knew you, and to help me remember you. We never met. Maybe in heaven we will. You were a wonderful person Lisa Clay Styles. I hope that just saying your name invokes a smile or maybe just a nod... The manner of your passing while tragic isn't significant at all - after all it is not the manner in which we die that people will remember, but the manner in which we lived that will forever remain in our hearts. Live on, Lisa... Go with God, Be at Peace. Blessings Always to your family and friends.

STYLES/CLAY FAMILIES,
What a tragic accident. What a beautiful lady, and mother. My heart goes out to the entire family. May knowing that others care give you all a measure of comfort. When death reaches into a person’s family and snatches away a loved one, the shock of loss can be the severest emotional blow of of our lives. May God who see your tears and pain of heart give you the needed endurance just to go from one day to next. For God is with those who are broken at heart and those who are crushed in spirit He saves. He is healing the brokenhearted ones,
And is binding up their painful spots.

To the Styles / Clay families, Words cannot express how sad and meaningless Lisa's loss must be to you and your family. I remember Lisa in High School always having a smile on her face and being such a pleasure to be around. Humanly we cannot understand why a tragedy like this happens but God does have a plan in all things regardless of how we feel about it. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I am so sorry for your loss of a wife, mother and daughter. May you find peace and comfort during this time.
July 7, 2010
My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Although I didn't know Lisa, I graduated from the same high school. I truly believe that she died a hero to her husband and children. She will not be forgotten by those who loved her or those whose lives she touched. May the family find peace over the next weeks, months and years. From everything I have read, she was amazing and it is wonderful for the family to have those incredible memories of her. Again my thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I knew Lisa as a girl. She was sunny, bright, and cheerful. As member of our girl scout troop, she was a delight. Lisa was a friend of my daughter, Tiffany, and often in our home. They shared many joyful times together. After all these many years, news of Lisa's happy life as a wife and mother is welcomed. But not her death, that is so very tragic. My heart goes out to Ellen, her mother, and her husband and children. I am so sad and so very sorry for your loss of Lisa. May God be with all Lisa's family in the days, months, and years to come.

A person is not judged by how much they love, rather than how much they are loved....(Wizard of Oz) Lisa was so loved, by her husband, her children, her parents, her in-laws everyone whose path she crossed in this short life. She truly was a special person whom I am happy to have met and struck up a friendship with. While I cannot imagine the family pain, I know that you each have wonderful memories of a woman who obviously made the most of every day! My deepest condolence to you all.

I was horrified to hear of this tragedy, and was saddened even more when I realized that it had happened to Lisa.
When I think back to our high school days, I remember Lisa's bright smile and her friendly personality. She was a wonderful person, and has certainly led an amazing life since then.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Lisa's family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time...she will be deeply missed.

I did not know Lisa, but I was very sad to hear of this tragic incident. I took this to heart also being a mother of 3... boys ages 12, 6, & 13 months. About 1 1/2 weeks ago I just started using a jogging stroller at the university track where I live, & I bring my other two kids to run or walk on the track with me as well. I'm sure Lisa felt as |I do..so happy they invented something that I can bring my baby with me because if I run without them, I know they miss me & feel terrible, & miss any time away from them as well. It makes me feel like a good mom keeping my children involved in the activities I do. I love running with my little guy smiling & staring back at me. She had those kids there because she loved them & was a wonderful mother. Those strollers even make running a little harder, I can't imagine 2 kids in 1, but it is worth it to have our kids with us. We'll make anything work to be a good mom. We are willing to do it because we love them so much. My uncle passed away at 49 & was shocked back 2 life..he saw his mom & grandma in Heaven & let us know during the small time period he came back before passing. This gave me so much faith. You will see Lisa again,I just know it. She will have to jam to Michael Jackson's music (also a tragic loss) & wait for you guys, but I know she will. I don't understand why this happens to nice people, when some jerks live to be 90 & they never experience anything like this their whole life. For some reason God must have needed a special angel for the babies in heaven.I am so sorry for your loss, please keep faith, & share all your memories with your children. God Bless-Jackie

I am very sorry to hear about Lisa's tragic end. She did not deserve this. Dear Styles Family,
I am also a mother of a 5 year old and a 3 month old. We were watching the news when this horrible tragedy occured. My 5 year old was so distraught, she said mommy, we have to pray for this Mommy and her children.
From reading and following the news, since this has happened we have prayed daily. She seemed very courageous and wonderful hero to her children. I am sure that is how they will remember their mommy.
Please accept my deepest condolences.
It may not seem like it, but God has a bigger plan for your dear wife and your children's mommy. You will all have a special Guardian Angel always watching over you.

I was fortunate enough to have had Lisa and June in my classes at Gymboree in Mt. Lebanon. They always came in with the warmest smiles on their faces. They laughed and played with a sincere joy and were a delight to have in the classroom. I recall how happy Lisa was when Nate was big enough to join them in his baby sling.

Dear Lisa,
I have spent the last few days with your beautiful children and with Brett, Ellen and Kevin. Brett misses you terribly and breaks down every time he looks at the picture from your engagement trip. I always knew he loved you with all of his heart, but I did not comprehend how much until now. I have seen a special side of him that has really touched me. Kevin is the most honorable and gentle brother a sister could wish for, and Megan is beyond lovely. While no one could ever possibly take your place, Ellen and Brett are in amazing hands with Kevin and Megan, as well as Erik, Julie and Devon.
As for the munchkins, June has demanded afternoon kindergarten. She is hoping to lounge in the mornings; after all, with her style, it takes a while to choose an outfit. Although we don't know if 5 year olds are permitted to drop classes, Brett is just hoping June doesn't drop kindergarten. Nate and Evelyn are loved and cared for. Nate tried to eat a container of sour cream today, but I apparently have developed enough parental instincts in three days to stop him. Evelyn continues to love deli meat and is talking about training for the 2027 Olympics.
As for me, my heart hurts in a way it has never hurt it before. But you will live on in my heart and soul. I will fight for your children and your causes always.
I would not be the person I am today if I was not blessed to have you in my life. I hope you knew that.
I love you L-train.
More hugs and kisses than I could ever give,
Brigit (that's B-dog to you).

We are so very sorry to hear of Lisa's death. My husband and I lived next door to Brett and Lisa for five years before we moved last year. Lisa was an amazing person and mother. She was so hands on with her children. Whether it was playing in the hose, building snowmen, or just laughing and giggling the day away, she was there being a caring and loving mom every day.
