The family doesn't know how we are related - or maybe being Leta Fay's kids you do! Your grandfather, Uncle Clifford & my grandmother, Winnie Harris were siblings. I've been in Aunt Neida's house/laundry many times in my childhood & loved her dearly. My mom, Pearl Harris Mayo, passed away on Jan 29, 2021 & when I called your mom to tell her & called her Leta Fay her response was "this has to be family!" I had been meaning to call her for several days when I read where she had passed. You are all in mine & my dad's thoughts & prayers. Our moms were the last of their generation which makes me very sad! Love & prayers.

I will always remember working with Lita on various history projects, usually helping her identify railroad and streetcar photos from the region out at MSU or down at the Museum of North Texas History. She was always a kind a caring person and always put our local history first.

My maternal grandparents were also named Watson and Lita used to always laugh about the fact that here we were, two people sharing an interest in history and a common family name.

Lisa and family---I am sending my friendship and condolences on the loss of your beloved mother. I know that you will have a lifetime's measure of joyful memories of her, and that she is safe, whole, and complete in the arms of her heavenly Father. I remember the enchiladas she served us at your house in Iowa Park (probably as we were on our way to, or coming home from, Phillips!)----I still have the recipes, and think of her, and of you, every time I see it. She was a wonderful, inspiring woman whom I will never forget. May God bless and keep her, and you all. Love, Tracey Graham Shull (Santa Clarita, CA.)

My condolences to your family. Lita was an exceptional woman, and I was so grateful to have met her and spend some time with her. I will miss playing Words with her. In the past few years that we played daily, I must have won a handful of times, and I believe she was being kind to me the few times I did win! She will live in our hearts forever!
