Lloyd Robert Carey Sr.

Lloyd Robert Carey, Sr., a loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sadie Rome Carey; a daughter, Dawn Carey St. Lucia and her husband Stephen; a son Lloyd R. Carey, Jr. and his wife Amy; grandchildren, Petty Officer Third Class Cy St. Lucia, USN, Dylan Carey, Dalton Carey and Aly Carey (his angel) and many nieces, nephews, sisters in law and brothers in law. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lena Legorie Carey and Joseph William Carey; a brother, Joseph William Carey, Jr.; and sisters in law, Lillie Rome DiLeo and Nancy B. Rome. Lloyd was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Kenner for the past 48 years. He was employed by the City of New Orleans and retired from the New Orleans Aviation Board after 30 years of service. He was active in Kenner Recreation as a softball and baseball coach at Greenlawn Playground. Lloyd enjoyed cooking, woodworking, listening to Oldies but Goodies music, and decorating at Christmas time which was his favorite time of year. He had a heart of gold, always willing to help those in need, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at L. A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner of Friday, July 15, 2022 followed by a Funeral Mass St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 4640 Canal St., New Orleans, LA. at 1:30 p.m., The Reverend Lennin Arroyo, Celebrant.
