I have often thought of Pastor Saatjian over the years. He was superintendent of the Santa Ana District when i was in high school and college. He gave such good perspective on parables. If i remember correctly. He did such good works as camp Dean. I I now think of him during this terrible time of war between Israel and Hamas. He gave people much to think about.

Lloyd changed my life, and I am not kidding. I met him when I was 25 and a non believer. He led me to god, married us in Palm Springs, baptized me and my 1st child in San Juan Capistrano (we had to hunt him down, ha!), baptized my daughter in another city 2 years later, renewed our vows us in Santa Barbara on our 10th wedding anniversary. He was "the man", a great, great man!!!. I will always love him. Thank you Rev. Saatjian!!!

What Lloyd taught about the Gospels gave many of us new perspectives and understanding of the Bible stories that were so familiar. He was also such a loving servant of Christ. May you find comfort in your memories, and may you feel the presence of God.

Lloyd was a treasured mentor and friend. He married us in 1963 when we were all at North Long Beach Methodist Church. He spent many evenings with us having dinner at the house and going out and having good clean fun when we were all just kids. Soon he found Martha and told us he'd met the one that was "the end of the world" for him. We knew immediately how special she was and we continued to enjoy our times together as couples. Over the years we've managed to keep in touch as he was someone we could never let go of. It is difficult to do so now. He is a dear friend that will be missed more than words can say. To all the Saatjian families. Lloyd was one of the nicest persons I have known. I was in the Methodist Church at Indio, CA. when he served Palm Springs Methodist Church for many years. I had the opportunity to direct the Handbell Choir there and he and his wife Martha and son Mark shared their talents in that choir. They are all a wonderful family. Lloyd certainly touched the lives of many people throughout his ministry. Several of my children attended his summer high school camps and my daughter was also a camp counselor and they also attended the Adult Camp. Lloyd's leadership was a great inspiration to my family. My sympathy is extended to all of you. I wish I could attend the Memorial Service, but living so far away, I won't be able to. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless.

Our rembrances of Lloyd and the time we spent in Palm Springs are fond ones. Our experiences in the United Methodist Church were special and the Saatjian family was a huge part of that. Lloyd baptised three of our children before moving on to his next assignment. The Saatjians have been in our prayers for many weeks now. We cannot attend the memorial in person, but like those who will be there, our hearts will be filled with love and respect for a very fine man.

Sincerely, Joe & Esther Rank (Michael, Elizabeth, Monica and Amanda)

Lloyd was a wonderful man. I remember him well for his years on the Palm Springs Unified School District Board of Directors. He only had to ask me once to run the revenue election for the District. He left a lasting mark in the Palm Springs community. It was a deep pleasure to know him. My best wishes for his family.

LLoyd was an amazing shining star in my life, as is his wife, Martha. I found out about this loss just today and mourn the passing of one of the most generous souls I've ever met. I'm sending my love and condolences to Martha and the family.

Lloyd was an important part of my early days in Palm Springs in the 70's, as well as to my Aunt Clarice Gores, and to many local and part time resident Methodists. As an usher, I remember that during the season, Lloyed preached to many standing room only crowds. I was honored to have Lloyd assist in the wedding ceremonies with my wife Maria. My sympathies to Martha, Wendy, Mark & children.

My thoughts are with LLoyd's family at this time of loss. There are so many of us who were touched by this fine man. I especially loved his stories about his family, and also the scholarly way in which he put Bible passages into historical context.
Three years ago he married my daughter, and we reminisced about her baptism.
I wish all who were lucky enough to know and love him peace.
