Lois Mae Acosta, 72, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 12:16 a.m. She was a native of Westwego, LA and a resident of Houma, LA. A memorial talk will be given at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 1830 Prospect Blvd., Houma, on Saturday, August 27 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray, LA.

She is survived by her husband of six years, Harold L. Acosta; sons John D. Hays, Jr. and wife, Nicole; Richard L. Hays and wife, Jessica; daughters Kerry H. Nelton and husband, Aaron; and Kristy L. Hays; Stepsons Kenneth Acosta and companion, Gerri Breaux; Michael Acosta and wife, Wanda; David Acosta and wife, Susan; Stepdaughters Lee Anne Dies; Lisa Dies and husband, Jimmy; Staci Venable and husband, Todd; Kelli Domingue and husband, Casey; Brothers Jerry LeBouef, William LeBouef and wife, Kathy; Sisters Dorothy Gaspard and husband, Malcolm; Mable Rouselle; Mildred Bernard; 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Clovis and Bertha Trahan LeBouef, Brother Lawrence LeBouef, Sisters Laura Mae Dufrene, and Nora Buquet, Stepdaughter-in-law, Nancy Acosta, and Stepson-in-law David Dies, grandchild Alie Domingue, and great-grandchild David Shane Lonkowski, Jr.

She was baptized as one of the Jehovah's Witnesses for 56 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is deeply loved and missed by all.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all of the medical staff involved in her care, and to her friends, especially Emma Norman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the flood victims of South Louisiana.

Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Acosta family.

I never met Sis Acosta, but I am a fellow sister from Maryland. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I know that the family will receive comfort from friends and from Jehovah's wonderful promise.
