Dear John,
Lois and I were old elementary and high school friend’s and lived across the street from each other. After your wedding we lost touch for many years. She was always fun, fun, fun, and we laughed ‘til we cried on many occasions !! My heartfelt condolences to you and the entire family. May you find comfort in her amazing legacy and life, and the promise that we shall see her again.

I imagine leading and responding while executing the shag brought the two of you closer and more in sync than most "normal" couples. I'm sure that dancing joy spilled over into the rest of your life from the comments I have read. I will sure miss seeing her speed by with you in the jeep. My love and thoughts are with you.

To the family of “Lois”:
Our Prayers are that our Heavenly Father will give you added strength where you maybe weak,
Faith, where you may have wavered. Peace, where you maybe troubled.
Joy so that you can rejoice in the Lord.
His everlasting love, simply because he cares for you.
Psalms 30:5 states that His anger endure but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night,
but joy comes in the morning.
God knows our pain, our hurts, our sufferings.
Being God who knows All and everything, He simply whispered to “Lois”
from John 14:1-3.
Lois is now at rest, Lois is now at peace with the The Master. The Almighty God.
We know you’re gonna miss her smiles, her many acts of kindness, the love she had and shared with many of you.
Her students, co-workers, and many constituents, etc.
Last, but not least, her spouse “JOHN”
her sisters, Barbara, and Marylou. Brother-in-laws,
Grady And John...
Nieces and nephews.
Please know that God and time “Will” heal and mend broken-hearts.
Trust Him explicitly.
God Bless You.
Remember,
He cares about you, and He loves you.

John, we are deeply saddened by Lois' passing! We felt total disbelief when we heard! My thoughts drifted back to the days in Red Springs and how special Lois made anyone feel who entered her classy store. Her smile would light up a room with such warmth! It was always special seeing the two of you when you came for shagging events at Ocean Drive. Lois and I would share teaching experiences and her love for children shone brightly as she talked about her students. Our last meeting was at Lalla Anne's memorial service. I can picture those two hanging out together in Heaven right now. May God support you in this time of need with His comfort and grace. Our thoughts and prayers will continue for you and your family. Lois touched our lives and will never be forgotten.

It is so saddening to learn that Lois has passed. To me she was a beautiful bundle of energy with a real zest for life. I first came to know her and John during her teaching days at Bath and then later re-acquainted through shag dancing. Always on the cutting edge of fashion and impeccably dressed, Lois was a wonderful dancer and valued friend. I loved her wit and style. She will be missed by many and particularly by me. Comforting thoughts go to John and the family.
