We are deeply saddened to learn of Ms. Lois Hartman´s passing. Lois was a valued member of Room to Read´s community and though I didn´t have the privilege of knowing her personally, her commitment to supporting children´s education speaks volumes about the thoughtful and loving person she must have been.

We are profoundly moved by the decision to honor Lois's memory through donations to Room to Read. Please be assured that every contribution will support our mission to provide quality education to children in under-resourced communities.

On behalf of our entire staff, I extend our sincere condolences to Lois´s family. We understand that this loss is immeasurable, and our thoughts are with you. May Lois´s legacy continue to inspire and empower children to reach their full potential through education.

Lois, you were a great friend and colleague. I am saddened by the news of your passing. My memories of our time teaching together will always be cherished. You taught me allot as we worked side by side for a year in second grade. I enjoyed our Chinese take out while working on report cards at your home. We had lots of laughs and good times with our students. I'm sorry you had cancer, I am also battling cancer right now. You will be missed. RIP my friend

The news of Lois passing truly saddens me. The few years I lived in Berlin during my high school years, I and many other kids were always welcomed into her home. We had so much fun there!!
She was warm and always generous with us. What a beautiful person and my heart goes out to her family at this difficult time. I know she will be greatly missed.

My heart goes out to the family of this amazing woman. Lois was the kindest, one of the funniest and amazing woman I ever had the privilege of knowing. Although I had not seen her for decades, I will never forget the love she showed me as a girl.
Rest in Peace Lois

I am very sorry to hear this. I was friends with Keith and Lois in the 70s when I taught for the Berlin School District. Keith was an art teacher in the school where I taught science. My wife, Christine and I became friends with Keith and Lois, spending much enjoyable time with them. Lois will be missed.

I remember vividly Lois and my mom traveling to our field hockey games to support us.
I also remember the hours and hours of book reading Lois did, little did she know we were sneaking out at night during sleep overs haha. May you rest in peace Lois!
