Lois Martin Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois Martin, on Sunday, August 31st 2014 in Abbotsford, B.C. Beloved wife of Alan Martin, daughter of the late Herbert and Viola Purdy of Thurso, Qc. Dear sister of Grace Purdy and of the late Gertrude Leduc (Ray). She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephew, Suzanne(Claude), Lyne(Gilles), Anne(Jeff), John(Sylvie), Mary(André) as well as Alan's children, Irvin, Vera(Norm) and Timothy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, great and great great nephews and nieces, aunts, cousins and friends.
Special thanks to June Nevett and Connie Ouimet for all your help and support during this difficult time.
Memorial service will be held at Thurso United Church, 161 Fraser Street, Thurso, QC on Saturday October 18th 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Family will be at Church at 10:30 for condolences. Interment will be at the Gore United Church Cemetery. As per Lois's request donations to the Christine Morrison Hospice, Mission Healthcare Auxiliary, 7324 Hurd Street, Mission B.C. V2V 3H5 would be much appreciated.

Our condolences to you Grace and all your family. We have not seen any of you for many, many years but always remember the good times at TIS and CGIT and later when our parents were back fence neighbours. I know she will be greatly missed. Although we never knew Alan and his family we extend our sympathy to them to them also.

Our most sincere sympathy to Alan and Grace and all the families that Lois loved so dearly. Lois was a special and wonderful friend - like “the sister we never had”. A beautiful, talented, gracious Lady who consistently radiated gentle thoughtfulness and caring to all. We were extremely blest to have Lois in our lives these many years. She touched us and our family deeply. We are pained by our loss but cherish each precious memory of this dear, dear friend. May God be close to each of you in the days ahead.

I had the privilege of seving with Lois on the Board of the Abbotsford Genealogical Society. Lois shared so much knowledge and expertise with our group and for that alone she will be greatly missed. She was a delightful host and was generous with her time. My condolences are extended to Alan and to Lois' other family and friends. Rest in the Peace of the Lord, Lois, your time here on earth was well spent.
