In Loving Memory - Forever in Our Hearts

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Olinger, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who peacefully passed away on May 6, 2025. She was 99 years, 7 months, and 6 days old.

Born in Coweta, Oklahoma, on October 1, 1925, to William and Addie Eubanks, she grew up in Oklahoma and met the love of her life, Frank, whom she married on June 7, 1941. They moved to California with their two sons, David and Kenneth, in 1946.

She worked in the dietary department of Foster Hospital in Ventura, CA, in 1958 until they moved to Victorville in 1960, where she worked at St. Mary's Hospital in the dietary department. They opened Valley Nursery in 1963 until she accepted the offer to open the dietary department at Victor Valley Hospital in 1967. She remained the Dietary Director until her retirement in 1982, after which they moved to Caliente. She later moved to Bakersfield in 2015 and returned to Apple Valley in 2018.

Over the 78 years she lived in California, she resided in Delano, Madera, El Rio, Ventura, Victorville, Caliente, Bakersfield, and Apple Valley.

Her passions included family, vacations with family, camping, quilting, sewing, and crafts. She created many quilts and handmade items for her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, her brother H.H. "Brownie" Brown and his wife Lois, and her great-granddaughter Laura.

She is survived by her sons David (and Evelyn) of Apple Valley, and Kenneth (and Sandy) of Bakersfield. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Kenny, Karen (and Eric), Scott (and Eileen), Kathy, Chris (and Derri), and Craig; 9 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way); and 13 foster children.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Hi-Desert Church of Christ, 13460 Apple Valley Rd., Apple Valley, at 11:00 AM. Lois was a faithful member of the Church of Christ since 1965. She requested that attendees wear red, pink, or blue to celebrate her life. A "church" potluck lunch will follow immediately after the service.

Lois and Frank were neighbors in the late 70's and 1980. They took us in like family. Frank helped with out son when I had a difficult pregnancy with our daughter. Our friendship did not stop through out the years. Lois and Frank will always be in our hearts.

My heart mourns but only for a moment for anyone who knows you, knows where you are. What a reunion and celebration in heaven there must have been! I love you as a grandmother and friend. You were my first friend when I moved to Twin Oaks/Caliente. Starting my life over at 28, making better choices, doing the right thing all became so easy having you as a role model & friend. You were a second mom to my dad and my family and I love you so much. My son still refers to you as Great Grandma Lois. You are a beacon of God´s light and love in this world. I look forward to the day I see you again. My deepest condolences to your family, I´ve tried reaching out but through the years I have lost proper contacts.
RIP Lois- Our memories of you will be cherished.

My best memory's are from when you and grandpa retired and moved to twin oaks. I will never forget the things I was able to experience as a child there. I tell people about using kerosene lamps and sitting on the front porch at night looking at the stars.
