In memory of
Diane Murphy
April 21, 2024
The hardest thing that I cope with in life is death. Death of a family member, death of a friend ,unexpected death and death in itself. They say there are two things in life that are guarantees, taxes and death. I really can't rap myself around the fact that Lonnie Bell, a friend from the past, has taken that route. It really bereaves me to accept it so I just pretend that even though he's not around physically he will always be around in spirit. Sympathies to the family, hugs and love to all.
In Peace,
Diane Muphy

You made me look back at the 1975 Kentucky State University yearbook. Found several photos of you. I hope you don't mind me posting them to this site. I am still trying to realize your passing. I thought you would live to be a very old man.

There are so many things I want to say about Mr. Bell, but let me start off by saying Thank you. I had a privilege of knowing Mr. Bell for over eight years through work. I admired Mr. Bell leadership, his ability to lead, passion, faith, character, and most of all his friendship. I always told him that he is the leader that aspire to be. Let me explain why.
A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way (John Maxwell). Mr. Bell didn't look or treat me as just an Orange County employee, he treated me as his friend. When I needed someone to talk to, his door was always open , when I needed support, he was always there to listen and not judge and , when I experienced a loss of one of my dearest friends Mr. Bell went out of his way to check on me , he even attended the funeral. This is what it means to lead. I always told Mr. Bell that he is a leader I aspire to be. I am truly thankful and grateful for knowing Mr. Bell.
Lastly, I want to say thank you to his wife, Mrs. Bell and family for sharing him with us. Mr. Bell will forever remain in my heart.

I've known Lonnie as a friend since first grade at St. Raphael. I still have our first communion picture. He was angelic. I was not. Lost touch with him over the years but never forgot his friendship. One of the best men to ever come out of Springfield. My love and condolences to the Bell family.

Lonnie and I were boyhood friends at St. Raphael grade school and on into Catholic Central High.. Oddly enough, Lonnie Sr. and my father were also friends in the catholic schools system. It´s funny how the years pass and the decades slip away. I can still see us laughing at one another in our 8th grade class. Sometimes that´s all we get. Off you go Lonnie, Love to the entire Bell family.

I've known Lonnie since 9th grade when we attended Catholic Central High School. A great athlete, loving son, and truly dedicated to his family and community. My heart goes out to all of his family. He will be forever remembered by me and my fellow classmates.
