Lonnie Wallace Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 4, 2018.
A remembrance tribute for L.M.W., 74, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, will be held at a later date. Our heavenly Father saw our beloved suffering so he called him home to rest with the flock on Nov. 25, 2017. Lonnie Martin Wallace was born on Oct. 13, 1943, the baby son of the late Yule Sessions and Wayne Holliman Wallace. He was named in honor of both his maternal and paternal grandfathers. Left to cherish his memory are his older sisters, Dean (James) Hines of Diboll; Glenda (Jim) Draper of Bossier, Louisiana; older brother, Gayland (Elaine) Wallace of Lufkin; nieces, nephews and best friends since childhood include Martha Williams Alexander and the late Charles Alexander. Raised in the Moffett Community of Lufkin, Lonnie graduated from Lufkin High School in 1962. He served proudly with the US. Army where he was a Viet Nam veteran. Upon returning home, he resumed his employment with Lufkin Foundry. After a few years he and his wife, Cindi, along with their daughter, Stacia, relocated to Waukesha, Wisconsin, to make their new home there. First and foremost he was all about his family. He provided all that you needed and most everything you desired and wished for. A gentle-heated man, always thinking of others. He was "his happiest" when his health permitted him to visit his summer house in the beautiful North Woods of Minocqua, Wisconsin. Coon hunting and ice fishing were his favorite sports. He loved sitting on a stump listening to his dogs tree those coons. He always said it was sweet music to his ears. Then he would flash that "ear-to-ear" grin. He was a witty soul and lived life to his fullest every day, which he called "Thumpin' Around." Married to Cindi Bellin Wallace for 50 years; father of Stacia Gilmer and Matthew (Katie) Wallace; grandchildren, include Madison, Victoria and Antonio; great-grandpa to Isabella, Mason, Avery, Apollo and Delilah. Lonnie Martin Wallace...affectionately known to his nieces and nephews as "Bubba." Always in our hearts, forever in our memory. I am not dead, I am more alive now, I have just changed my address, as I have gone into the presence of God.
