Loran C. France, 77, of Church Hill, TN passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. France was born January 24, 1935, in Kingsport, TN, the son of the late Daniel France and Edna Nash France. During his lifetime, Mr. France worked for International Harvester for many years and also had a career in the maintenance field. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge (Davenport, Iowa).

Mr. France was of the Christian faith.

He greatly enjoyed joking around and playing pranks on everyone he knew. He was a very giving man and loved to help others. He always gave his best effort in all that he did.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia France; a brother; and a sister.

Survivors of Loran C. France include his daughters, Colleen France (Church Hill, TN), Mona Parks and husband Michael (Spokane, WA); son, Daniel France and wife Christine (Davenport, Iowa); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; loving in-laws, Bob and Judy Guinn and children (Davenport, Iowa).

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the France Family Cemetery (Alley Valley community of Scott County, VA). Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to the start of the service.
