George and family,
Please accept my prayers and sympathy on the death of your mother. Though I never met her, I recall the many stories Fr. Frank Carey, SJ, would tell of her as he returned from visits to her home in Chacago. Now the two of them can resume their lively conversations.

Wendt Family
My sincere condolences to all.
I was out of town with at the time and returned to the news.
What a wonderful mother you had. She was always giving and finding time to ask those question to know that she was connected. What a true blessing to have someone like her come into our lives.
One of my first introductions on the block was with your mom by my mom. She assured my mother that she would watch over our family (like I needed another mom watching my every step back then too :)).
During this past year or so with her illness she never once complained but always found time to ask about the kids and what they were up to. She was always about the other person....a true gift.
I too have many fond memories of your mom in the years I was blessed to be her neighbor. Hold strong to those memories and let you lives be guided by them. We will miss her.
Take care.

Dear Wendt Family,
We were so sorry to hear of your loss. My Mom, Marcella Breternitz Condon was one of the "sixth grade girlfriends." They attended grade school and high school. My mom also took credit for fixing up your parents at a dance. As George's fame grew, mom would recognize your mom's spark and humor in him. George, if you recalled a wildly dressed woman in any of your audiences, that was us. My mom and the girlfriends so enjoyed your mom. There has to be one hell of a cocktail party in heaven!
May your many wonderful and humorous memories soften the sadness in your hearts.

Paul,
I am so very sorry to hear of your Moms passing. I have found very few words have much impact at a time of tremendous grief. The one word that does last is love. Your love, your Mom's love and all the love from family and friends, that is wahat will carry you through!
Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us.
St. John the Baptist De La Salle, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts forever.

Dear Marti, Nancy ,Tom, and all the family,
Please know of my deepest sympathy and prayerful support as you hand your mom/grandmom/great grandmom Nana back to the Lord she loved so much. I'm sorry I can't be there in person. I will offer mass for her here in Paris tomorrow on the Feast of St. Ignatius -- she was such a great friend of the Jesuits! Now she and Fr. Carey can continue their conversations and laughs from 50 years ago.
In Christ, Brian Paulson, S.J.

My deepest sympathies to the entire Wendt clan. Loret was very special to me and my family. A family party wasn't complete without her! Her friendship with my nana was amazing. Her sense of humor was one of my favorite things about her. I will truly miss her, but I know that she's in heaven telling dirty jokes to my dad and having a ball!

To All the Wendt Family: Loret gave me 20 years of laughs & talks of our families & friends. I met her thru our friend Jane Conway in Palm Desert & she immediately warmed my heart. I live in California now but we talked frequently on the phone as late as last Friday when I felt she was tired. I will pray for her thru Padre Pio who she introduced as her Patron. I can only guess, but I'm sure she has him laughing in Heaven.. Lois Law, San Clemente, CA.

Dear George,
My sincerest condolences to you and your family. Your mother attended my brother Jim's wake and funeral mass at St. Thomas More four years ago. She had such kind words for my mom, my brother and myself at the time. Her attendance meant a great deal to us. What a gracious and lovely lady.Again my sincerest sympathies.

We will always remember your mother, Loret, as a person central to every event and a wonderful lifelong friend to my parents as well as ourselves. She was always gracious and made us “youngsters” feel appreciated and very welcome at every occasion. She had a rare ability to speak with her wry smile and calm demeanor that always provided clarity and comfort when things just weren’t just right. In passing, we pray she will join our already lost parents and friends in a place they can again enjoy each other’s company.

Nancy and the entire Wendt Family,
May God Bless you and your family during your time of sorrow.
May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.

Dearest Nancy & Marti & Beautiful Wendt Family,
My heart aches, and it is full, too, with joyous memories of your larger-than-life WONDERFUL MOM. She made me feel as if anything, absolutely anything, was possible in this life, and that whatever we did, we should do it with gusto, have a ball, and make good good friends while we were at it. So much love going your way from a Beverly girl who always loved a sit-down with the beautiful, incomparable Loretta Wendt.

Dear Kathy, Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your dear mom. You won't remember me but I babysat for you and your brother when your parents lived in the apartment on Laflin and when they moved into their new house in Brainerd. That was a LONG time ago!! And I would see her around the south side before we moved to AZ about thirteen years ago. You all should be comforted by many wonderful memories of the past. May she rest in peace.
