I only now just found of her passing, but when she was my music teacher, I found music to be so joyous. I loved how she would use an ID or debit card as a guitar pick. She fascinated me so much. May she rest in peace with her loved ones and continue to enjoy music

So very sorry to hear this. We knew Lori mostly in the 80's and 90's. Lori sang at our wedding and the band played at our reception in 1988.

Miss Lori was my daughter´s music teacher at St. Thomas in the late 80s and early 90s. Her love of children and music was reflected in the beautiful Children´s Masses every Friday where the kids would sing their hearts out. One of the sweetest, kindest people I´ve ever met. My prayers are with you, her family, as you make your way through the heartache of losing this wonderful human being.

We are truly sorry to hear this! Our children enjoyed Lori so much when she was their music teacher at St. Thomas school, and our oldest daughter babysat for her kids when they lived in our neighborhood. Our prayers and sincere condolences to her friends and family.

Thank-you for posting the funeral service for those who could not attend. I haven´t been to St John Vianney for a few years now after moving up north. Gerry, Kitty, & Salem you did a Beautiful tribute to your mom at her service, she will live on in those who loved her and you are a shining example of that love. Mike it couldn´t have been easy for you to read your dads tribute, but you did a beautiful job of expressing the heartfelt love he holds in his heart. Tom, I´m so sorry... I have no words to express my sympathy....I am so shocked and saddened you are all going thru this.... hold tight to your faith.... We´re praying for all of you during this difficult time.
Lori touched so many and she will never be forgotten. In time may your memories bring you comfort...remember her love still surrounds all of you forever!

We're so shocked and deeply saddened to read this about precious Lori Jo! We knew her as one of the most fun and creative babysitters anyone could ever be blessed by.....she and Kitty came together to sit with my girls and I always knew they would be so well cared for and have so much fun.....making popovers and cutout snowflakes or attend a Polish wedding. Whatever those creative minds were up to was always good.
I was blessed with Lori singing at my wedding. Our hearts are full of love for Lori and deep pain for her family and communities in this irreplaceable loss. Rest in Peace, dear Lori Jo. We are sending prayers for comfort for all who are grieving.

I knew Lori back in the early days of her career. As a teenager, She formed a group called "The Little Lights" at St Thomas the Apostle Parish in Grand Rapids. I, and many other young musicians, were privileged to be a part of this group with Lori and her sister Kitty. We sang at the 9:00 am mass for several years. Though she was young, Lori was already very talented. I remember her writing & composing new mass parts for us to sing. The group eventually took on the name, "The Lights". I am so thankful to Lori for sharing her talents and introducing me to Liturgical music. Offering Prayers and condolences to Lori´s family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Lori was the music director at Holy Trinity when my mom taught Kindergarten there. I remember her being so beautiful, so kind, gentle, and soft spoken; and her love for Jesus! Years later I met her son Gerry at WC. He was a grade ahead of me. I am so sad to hear of Lori´s passing at such a young age. I am praying for Gerry Jr. and all of the family.

Dear Tom and family:
Our hearts are broken for all of you as you struggle to process Lori`s return to heaven. She was an amazing woman and musician and artist and her loss is a profound one for all of us but especially for you! Please know that we will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers and we´ll think of her whenever we raise our voices (or handbells) to praise God. May God´s grace and peace, which surpasses all understanding, guide and comfort you, and may that grace, along with the passage of time, help to soften the sharp edges of your grief.

Aunt Joe,
There are no words. We love you so much. I have a million memories from you 80's hair, to golfing in the back yard, Mac and cheese with hot dogs and picture walls. Drum kits in the basement, family gatherings in your back yard, late night talks about life in general and of course, the makeovers. You were so full of life and energy. You always made us feel so very special. You radiated fun, love and life helping us grow and become who we are today. It's too soon. We will remember and love you always. Hugs to my cousins. Katy

We offer our sympathies to Lori´s family members and close friends. We were privileged to have Lori sing and play at one of our son´s wedding, and we were so grateful that she was able to provide the music and sing at our son Ryan´ s funeral. It meant so much to us. Her beautiful piano playing along with the choir will be sadly missed at Saturday evening masses. May She Rest In Peace.
