Lori Leistman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 22, 2022.
Lori Lee Leistman was born August 21st, 1965. She passed away May 22, 2019 in her home.

In the summer of 2011, Lori's lifelong dream of purchasing a house came true. Along with her family, she crafted two butterfly gardens, had the backyard fenced in, and readied her deck. Then she planted trees, to give back to nature as she always enjoyed doing.

As a part of nature, Lori loved animals. She saved countless lives,
selflessly striving to care for those around her. Cats were her favorite, especially cheetahs. She raised generations of kittens, nursing them back to health and then adopting them out to loving, forever homes.

Her loss is felt heavily. She will be missed by the many people she met and adored over the years. Lori was known for being a good friend, and a strong individual.

She never gave up on her dreams, urging others to strive for their goals. We remember Lori's accomplishments, her love for animals, her generosity, and the memories we have.

Lori created a beautiful family for herself over the years. She is survived by many, including her only daughter, Darby Quinlan, partner Seth McCrory. Her adoptive mother, Cathy Bobij, and the entire Bobij family, who remained close to her heart through her life. Jean Everson, a celebrated mother, as well as the Everson family. Ellie Weinstein, a lifelong nature lover, as well as her four legged friends.

Her memorial service was held at Mendon Ponds Park at the Southview
Shelter, in front of the small tree. She used to joke that she taught her daughter how to walk in those woods. She spent many evenings playing with the songbirds, watching fox kits, and standing beside the deer.

*Across the meadow,*
*In front of the trees,*
*With a view of the pond*
*Our love is with you*

Hi Mom,
We took this picture of you while overlooking the Atlantic. You put up such a fuss over me taking a picture of you! But it's one of my favorites. The sun is shining, and your hair is red, and the water is that beautiful deep blue that we always loved, and you're smiling. You loved forests, but it was impossible to take a picture of you amidst the trees, because you were always darting off after the deer, or turning to let a bird land on your hand. All of the animals always loved you.
I adore to remember you like this. Smiling, looking out towards whatever is coming next, ready for anything. I hope you're happy, wherever you're running now.
Love, Darby
