Lori Maynard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 21, 2025.
Lori Faye Maynard (née Johnson), age 72, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, in San Tan Valley, Arizona. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Lori's life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and unwavering faith.

Born on October 31, 1952, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lori was the daughter of William and Anna Beatrice Johnson. She grew up in Bloomington and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1970. From an early age, Lori displayed a deep compassion for others-a quality that would define her throughout her life.

Lori built a long and dedicated career as a medical biller and coder, working for multiple companies over the years. Her meticulous nature and strong work ethic earned her the respect of colleagues and clients alike. But beyond her professional accomplishments, it was Lori's generous spirit and boundless love for people and animals that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She shared her life with her beloved husband, Ben Maynard III. Together they raised two children: daughter Gena Corcoran and son Ben Maynard IV. Lori also welcomed son-in-law Jason Corcoran into the family with open arms. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to Evan and Gavin Corcoran-she cherished every moment spent with them. Some adventures included going to the movies, trampoline park or out to eat. She also enjoyed cheering for them as they played soccer, baseball and football.

Lori had a heart of gold. She was always ready to help anyone in need and never hesitated to offer support or encouragement. Her strength in the face of adversity was remarkable; even as she faced multiple health challenges in recent years, she remained active and engaged with those she loved most.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Lori found strength and purpose through her relationship with Jesus. Her spirituality guided her actions and gave her peace throughout life's trials.

Lori found joy in life's simple pleasures-following sports with her son Ben (especially cheering on the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, and Arizona Diamondbacks), reading novels, completing jigsaw puzzles, watching movies, thrift shopping for hidden treasures or enjoying lunch outings and shopping trips with her daughter. These everyday adventures were made special by the warmth she brought to them.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband Ben; daughter Gena; son Ben; son-in-law Jason; grandsons Evan and Gavin; sisters Beverly Mather and Robin Plucker; as well as many others whose lives she touched deeply. She now joins her parents William and Anna Beatrice Johnson and brother Warren Johnson in eternal rest.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Lori's life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Johnson Ranch Golf Club, located at 30761 W Golf Club Dr., San Tan Valley, Arizona 85143. In loving memory of Lori, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice.

Lori's legacy of love, generosity, faith, and quiet strength will live on in all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.

My wife Susan and I met Lori about 3 years ago when we moved into the neighborhood. We would see her out walking their dog Roxy and could see how much she cared for her. Lori and Ben easily invited us into their house and we had a good time on more than one occasion. We know her good nature will live on in her husband Ben, daughter Gena, son Ben, and her grandchildren.
