Lorine Kallaher (Maddox) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2025.
Lorine Gina Kallaher (Maddox) of Odenville, AL, passed away peacefully in her home following a lengthy illness on September 17th, 2025, she was 77 years old. A lifelong resident of Alabama, Lorine grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Tarrant High School.

Lighthearted and kind, "Lori" was a cherished mother, sister, and friend. Her warmth made you feel welcomed when in her presence. She was the kind of person who after giving you the shirt off of her back, would then send you off with a 'doggie bag'.

In addition to raising three daughters largely on her own - Lorine faced her life's many challenges with humor and grit, and was never afraid to go rogue in order to 'get it done' by herself, whether it be hanging wallpaper, changing the oil in her car, or weed-eating - she was a force. In retirement, Lorine enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with her daughters, cooking, quilting, crocheting, and gardening.

Lorine is survived by her three beloved daughters, who cared for her during her illness: Tracie Scott of Alpine, AL, Shellie Stewart of Odenville, AL, and Tennille Lambert of Westchester, NY; son-in-laws Allen Scott, Michael Stewart, and Hanon Rosenthal; grandchildren: Anthony and Alex Phillips, and Avi and Dahlia Rosenthal; great-grandson: Saxon Smitherman; siblings: Florine Favalora (twin sister), Steve Maddox (brother), Laura Palmer (sister), Phillip and Cindy Maddox (brother and sister-in-law), and Sarah Peek (sister).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11th at Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church at 11:30am CT (412 Cumberland Dr, Birmingham, AL 35206 ). In lieu of flowers please donate to The Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
