Darrell, Liane and Brad,

We are just catching up on the news.

I can not think back upon my childhood without thinking of you all, your mom and your dad.

As I've told many people throughout the years, hockey and the wonderful aroma of your dad's cigars are forever co-mingled for me as some of the best of my childhood memories.

We saw your dad on the day of his 70th birthday while traveling across Canada, introduced him to my two sons - a wonderful and serindipitous moment.

Condolences to Lorne's family. As the captain and a senior member of the Pat's in 1949-50, Lorne and his cousin Morley MacNeil were fine examples for the younger players on the team. They helped establish a happy, healthy atmosphere where you were never allowed to think that you were more important than the team. I will always remember Lorne's good humour and kidding. He will be missed. Gordie, Maureen Cowan and family

My sincere condolences to the Davis family. Lorne always carried himself with pride and dignity.
He always had time for me and you have no idea how much that meant when I was a young hockey broadcaster, just breaking into the business.
We'll miss him at the Moose Jaw Civic Centre.

Darrell, I only had the opportunity to meet your Dad twice, once in their home with you and once when you guys lived on Wesley Rd. That was a long time ago. My sympathies go to you and your family, losing a father is a big loss. Best wishes, Gord McEwen (Whitewood Sask.)

Brad, Liane and Darrell you are in our thoughts. Your Dad was an amazing man. In Darrell's wonderful article it spoke of cigars and trenchcoats while smiling, this is how he will always remain in my mind.

Brad, The Luce family will have you in our thoughts and prayers this Holiday season. Your Father represnted exactly what scouting in our game should be. I will always remember how he welcomed myself and other young scouts into the fraternity.

The Davis Family,

I had the honor to get to know your Dad while I was a young green scout in the WHL. He made me feel welcome right off the bat. It was always a pleasure to see your Dad at a game. His pride and the energy he brought to the rink was an inspiration to us.

The post game was when your Dad really took the stage. I used to sit there and listen to your Dad, Gerry Melnyk and Ian(Deputy Dog) MacKenzie go back and forth with jokes and lies!!

Lorne you will be missed, but you will never be forgotten.

You are now with Gerry, Tex and Ace. The lies and the jokes will be flying around once again!

I want to wish all the best to the Davis family on the passing of this great man of who I am a shirt tail relative of. My grandfather, Ed Murray was a cousin of Lorne's and my mother always talks of what a positive influence Lorne's parents, Cecil and Girty, had on her life. Truly a great man from a great family. Best Wishes, Steve Rush

A man from the same mold as Will Rogers; "never met a man he didn't like, never left a story untold". A friend I will truly miss.
