Age 95 of Saint Paul, Minnesota

Passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024.

Lorraine was born on August 12, 1929, in Sisseton, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her birth parents, Jacob and Tillie Hanson; her adopted parents, George Woldt and Ella Grabow; her former husbands, Frank Fabio and John Davis; her significant other, Frank Morrison; her daughter, Janice Fabio; and her brothers, Jacob Hanson, Sam Hanson, and Harry Carlson.

She is also remembered by her nephew, Allen Carlson, and his family.

Lorraine was devoted to her family and her Christian faith. She found great joy in attending church, celebrating holidays with her family, and traveling the world with loved ones. She especially cherished her time spent on Isla Mujeres, Mexico, and on her houseboat, "The Lorri-o," on the St. Croix River in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Lorraine had a passion for life and loved attending concerts, Twins and Vikings games, dining out, and gardening. She also took pride in keeping a clean home and enjoyed simple pleasures like doing laundry. Her vibrant spirit touched everyone she met, and she will always be remembered for her kindness, strength, and boundless love.

Lorraine was an active volunteer at The Cathedral of Saint Paul, where she was a dedicated member. She generously gave her time to events like the Fall Festival, Fishes and Loaves, and Catholic Charities. One of her favorite jobs was working as a secretary at Cray Research in Eagan, MN, where she learned computer skills that carried her well into the 21st century.

Lorraine´s big hearty exuberant hospitality welcomed our whole family in!! Fond, fond memories are rising now. Relaxing and splashing in the St. Croix River--invited guests on her boat as the sun set. She made us (and everyone!) feel like family. I can still hear her hearty chortle! Mischievous and fun! I especially remember her, with a twinkle in her eye, explaining why she loved the music of Andrea Boccelli! I´ll always remember Lorraine coming out to visit us in Colorado, and cooking up a storm! A true Italian zesty storm of pasta and homemade sauce! The marinara sauce in a giant pot on our stove--so big, she had to combine onto a stool so she could reach in and stir! Then, some of the sauce transformed into it the most phenomenal Vodka Cream Sauce--and of course, she insisted we invite all our friends to sidle up and enjoy! That was Lorraine--loving on us, and really, zestily loving on the whole world. I was going to say that the world´s a little less bright now that she´s gone-but you know, I don´t think so--since she lives on in all whose lives she touched and that, I´m absolutely sure, was so very many! So, Lorraine--we will miss you. We know you´re at peace now. Maybe cooking up a big pot of pasta and serving it up in heaven for all to share. The Big Host Table! I bet there is music playing, and LOVE flowing--your signature touch, no matter what! ~Lynn Young, Colorado Springs
