Lorraine Rankin
August 28, 1965 - June 23, 2017
It is with great sadness our family says goodbye to our beloved daughter, wife, mother and sister, Lorraine Rankin (Ell). Lorraine was predeceased by her father, Joseph and her brother Kelly. She leaves to mourn her husband Kevin, sons Nathan, Jeremy, Justin, and daughter Sydney, as well as her mother Florence, sisters Joanne (Terry), Gloria (Larry), and brother Gordon (Tiffany), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and large extended family. After a courageous battle with cancer, Lorraine passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the age of 51. Lorraine was born in Regina and raised on the family farm near Kronau, Sk. She moved to Regina and met many amazing people through her work. Family and friends are invited to share in a celebration of Lorraine's life on the evening of Thursday June 29, 2017 at Holy Child Parish (2636 7th Ave E, Regina) at 5:00 p.m. with interment to follow at St. Peter's R.C Cemetery just outside of Kronau, SK. The family would like to thank all who supported them through this difficult time, and a special thank you to the Regina Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kronau Curling Club in memory of Lorraine.

Kevin and family, I just heard of Lorraine's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. From the moment I walked into Dairy Producers and was greeted by Lorraine I knew what an exceptional young woman she was. She had an amazing way with people and her laughter was contagious. She had a way of making everyone feel special and could brighten any room with her beautiful smile and sense of humour. I new Lorraine through her work with the U of R Rams. We saw each other frequently, passing one and other in the halls of Kinesiology & Health Studies. Most often we only exchanged a brief greeting but I always hoped our paths would cross more often as she brightened my day with her smile, cheerful hello, and sense of style. I was disappointed when I learned she had left the Rams, and now very saddened to hear of her passing. I will remember her as warm and friendly, beautiful and classy, confident and strong. It is so difficult to understand how someone so beautiful and kind and loving and giving could leave us so soon. I will always remember her for her many admirable qualities. You just wanted to be around her. She had the sweetest sunny disposition and unbelievable energy and spunk. Her laugh... wish we could bottle that and be able to open it when we need to hear it.
We didn't see each other much in these later years but, Lorraine, you were a great friend through and through. Talking with you was always a treat. Much love. Rest well my sweet friend. ❤
