I took great care of Ms Byrd for 19 yrs at Park. She was such a gracious, classy lady back in her day. I looked forward to being her Aide each time.
I fondly remember her, which lead me here. Wanted to salute her w love .

Miss Lottie and my grandmother, Marion Horton, were best friends and roommates at Park Strathmoor for many years, and I was always so grateful that they had each other to talk to and to laugh with. Over the years Lottie became part of our family and I enjoyed seeing her so much when I would come home to Rockford to visit at Christmas time. I will never forget the day that my grandmother passed away when Lottie came to my grandma's bedside and said goodbye to her dear friend. I remember thinking to myself that I hoped to have someone say such a sweet goodbye to me when my time came, and I know that my grandma was as comforted by her words as I was. Over the years I haven't been able to get home so I hadn't seen Lottie but kept up with her through my mom, Connie Blomgren, who would stop by to visit with her. She was a lady with true faith and grace, with such a kind heart and wonderful spirit. I will always think of Lottie sitting by her window looking at the birds and butterflies with such a peaceful smile that it has always put a feeling of peace in my heart to remember it. May God give comfort to all of Lottie's family and friends, and I hope it will be of comfort to them also to know that she was so loved and will be so missed by so many. Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Miss Lottie. I will never forget you.
