always a kind word or something funny. I was just thinking of Rodney a couple days ago and regretted not spending more time together when we were neighbors. We are all poorer. men like Rodney are rare.

Dearest Nancy and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Rodney. It was evident in the pictures on facebook that there is a lot of love in your family. I was so shocked when I saw a post that he had passed away. I am so thankful we were able to reconnect on facebook. I know we haven't seen each other since Bolivar Central days but I know you as a lovely, loving, caring person. I pray for God's presence to hold you up and carry you forward and also carry your sweet family forward. Much love and sympathy from our house to yours!

Nancy,

Please know of my deep sorrow and sympathy in your earthly loss. Of course, you have been a very good friend most of our lives, and I am thankful for this. Since we both went to Ole Miss after graduating from Bolivar Central in 1968, I have had the pleasure of knowing Rodney throughout the years. He was always very nice and a pleasure to be around. I do remember you all dancing at our class reunion in 2010.

As you know, we have always shared about our families in the Grove, and you have a great one - children and grandchildren. Know Rodney was proud. Also, very thankful for your sharing about his love for our Lord Jesus Christ, Whom he now sees face to face.

Again, Lynn and I send our deepest sympathy.

Thanks always for your friendship and do hope to see you in the near future.

Most sincerely,

Blake White

It was in the early sixties in Sunday School at Trinity Methodist Church in Jackson when I met Rodney, and our friendship continued throughout our years at Ole Miss. I smile when I recall pleasant memories of our carpooling between Oxford and Jackson! He was a joy to know. My heartfelt sympathy is extended to his family and friends. May God comfort all of you as only He can.
God bless and Hotty Toddy, Rodney!

What a beautiful story of a terrific guy! Made me laugh. I remember the few times I had the good fortune to be in the same room with Rodney. Rodney never failed to speak to me and ALWAYS said something funny. Once I was next to him at a graveside service and I couldn't stop crying. Sweet thing that he was, he gave me his handkerchief. I tried to return it after cleaning it but Rodney refused to take it. He made me burst into laughter with a few short quips about why he did not care to have the hankie returned.
What a delightful man! What an awesome Rebel. Nancy, know of our prayers for you.

Rodney was such a good man. I had the privilege to work with him and interact with him on several occasions. I was always impressed by his kindness and professionalism. After our house burned, my family stayed in one of the Chamblee hotels for several months. He helped us in so many ways. My condolences to Mr. Chamblee's family and those who worked for him, as well.

Rodney was a true friend to me and it is hard for me to imagine that he is gone. I will always remember the good times we had going to see the Rebels play ( he turned me into a Rebel fan) and will never forget our lasting friendship.
He had a heart of gold and will be truly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
I loved that big guy.

Nancy,

Buck and I pray that God will grant you and the family comfort and peace during this heartbreaking time. Rodney did have a gift of making you feel as if you were the most important person in the world whenever he spoke to you. Always a kind word and a genuine smile. His love for the Lord was evident. Rodney was truly one of a kind. I loved him dearly but have wonderful memories to reflect on in the coming days. A chunk of my heart has been taken away but the many memories and time will hopefully put it all back together. Relax in peace my dear friend!
