Louis Gargon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 7, 2024.
Louis R. Gargon, loving husband and father, passed away unexpectedly in his home on April 13, 2024, at the age of 86 years old.

Louis is survived by his wife, Mary-Ann Gargon, his prior wife Janet Parkington, his 6 children, James Gargon-predeceased, Joseph Gargon, Patricia Gargon-Alleva, Russell Gargon, Mary Kimball, and Edward McDonald, his 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Louis was born on July 12, 1938, in Norwalk Hospital, son of the late Russell Gargon (stepdad - James Anderson) and Catherine Anderson and brother to the late Jack Gargon.

Louis was a graduate of Norwalk High School, Norwalk, CT, served in the National Guard for 6 years and retired from the Danbury News Times after 32 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping, archery, leather craftmanship, and making chicken cutlets for the family. After his retirement, he enjoyed watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, doing many Circles a Word puzzles, making cards for family and friends, and reading books.

Louis was a very spiritual man and very involved in his church, including being a Deacon at the Mountain Church of God.

He will be very deeply missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him.

On May 18, 2024, a funeral service will be held with immediate family and followed by a reception from 1pm to 4:30 pm at Odd Fellow Hall, 25 Danbury Rd, New Milford, CT.
