Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I am a better person for having you in my life as a brother, a confidant, and a best friend. Because of you I learned the meaning of true unconditional love. You touched more people with your amazing spirit than you'll ever know. I will live my life in your honor as a leader, a person who lives with no regret or fear, and will always aspire to be half as witty and charming as you were. You give my life meaning. I miss you every single day. Few people are as lucky as I was to have a brother like you. I dream of the day I will see you again. Please continue to guide your niece with your joy for life. She is named after you for a reason and I will never let her forget that.

Vickie, I'm so very, very sorry to learn of your terrible loss. My brother, John, lost his step-daughter just before Christmas to a rogue form of ovarian cancer. She, too, was only 26 years old. A self motivator, he was such a joy to see every day. No matter what the circumstances, he never quit and never allowed his teammates to quit. I didn't know Alex, but lift you up in prayer at this most difficult time. My son, Donald Gwarjanski, also an Auburn student and a Pike, died in August.
