My deepest condolences to Lou's family. I had the opportunity many times as an Auxiliary Trooper to ride with Lou. He was an excellent Trooper who taught me much. I missed him when he retired and am saddened by this news

Well I'm saddened to learn of Louis passing away. I worked with him in Pinellas for several years and he was a stand up guy, never shirking his duty or responsibilities. He loved the patrol. He will be missed by many who worked with him, RIP fellow trooper.

I know this is late in coming but I just learned of Lou's passing. I spent many an hour riding with Lou when I was an Auxiliary Trooper. Lou was an example of what a Trooper should be. He was kind and compassionate to all who he made contact with. He treated people with respect and compassion. People who were involved in a traffic crash are always under stress and Lou was a master at defusing the situation when needed and calming emotions of all parties involved. My late father was involved in a crash that Lou was dispatched to work and even though my father was the one at fault ( rear ended another vehicle ) Lou made an impression on my dad with his professionalism. Dad was cited in the crash but understood exactly why he was and had no hard feelings toward Lou in fact, made it a point to communicate to me how well Lou handled the whole situation. Lou was an excellent mentor to me and was one of the Troopers who inspired my to go the the FHP Academy and earn the title of Florida State Trooper. Lou made a positive impression on me and I am forever indebted to him for setting such a fine example. I can honestly say that I never heard Lou say a cross word about anyone he knew or met in the performance of his duties as a Florida State Trooper. God bless you my friend and may you Rest In Peace.
