I am so very sorry for your loss. The Mr. Kariel(s) of the world are rare jewels. Such a sweet, kind, gentle man in all the 17 years I had the privilege of working with him. I am just now learning of his passing and am truly very sorry.

Audrey, my thoughts & prayers continue to be with you and your entire family. Your husband, Mr. Kariel (Louis), was so beloved & respected. I appreciate the kindness he always extended towards me. I looked up to him & respected him for his lay leadership. I can picture his sweet smile now & compassionate demeanor, as well as his sense of humor. I hope that you, Nancy, Mark & the rest of the family are able to find comfort with all of the memories of wonderful times spent together. What a blessing for you to have found your soul mate & been able to cherish so many years together; during which time yall were able to lead by example & show not only your kids & grandkids what a wonderful , committed & loving relationship looks & acts like, but also show others like myself. ( of course, I too was blessed with my Parents example). I look forward to getting together with you soon. In the meantime, Please let me know if theres anything I can do. May Louis Name always be for a blessing! Sending you much love & .

I met Louis and Audrey over 32 years ago when I spent a year in Marshall Texas. They were both incredibly kind and warm, opening their home to me and making me feel welcome. Louis exemplified southern charm and taught me the joy of living a meaningful life in a wonderful small city. They also steadfastly maintained their Judaism in a town with less than 10 Jewish residents (although in years past, Marshall had a significant Jewish community).
Regrettably, I did not maintain much contact with Louis and Audrey but that year was so special and the relationship will last for my lifetime. I know my story is one of so many people who have been touched by this large-hearted person. Truly a life well lived! Baruch Dayan Ha'Emet - Blessed is the True Judge. May Audrey, Mark and Nancy and the rest of the family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

What a kind man. As far as Mom was concerned, there was no question that any shoe shopping would begin (and usually end with a sale) at The Hub. There, we would be greeted by the warm smile and consummate professionalism of Mr. Kariel. My condolences to you Mrs. Kariel, Mark, Al and Nancy.

Nancy and Mark, although I never met your father, I have admired him from afar for years. May his memory always be a blessing for you, your children, grandchildren, and all the generations to come.

Mariette reminisces frequently about Louis, Stanley, and Maurine, as well Marshall and the Marshall family. She glowingly talks about Louis's shoe store, community work, Audrey's book. We send our condolences and love to Audrey, Nancy, and Mark, and the entire Kariel family. May his memory be for a blessing.

Louis Kariel, was always so friendly and pleasant when ever I would talk to him during our Amtrak TX Eagle gatherings and he will be missed by all of us. Rest In Peace and I know you are at a better place because you lived your life as a caring person. It was an honor to have known Louis and I will be thinking of Audrey and his family during this difficult time in their life. I am sadden that I cannot be at his service but know that I am thinking of him and his family. Sincerely, Mercy Rushing

Mr. and Mrs. Kariel were dear friends and neighbors to us for over 20 years. Mr. Kariel always had a smile and a wave whenever I saw him. What a nice guy. I'm certain that he will be sorely missed.

Knowing Louis only a short time; his sense of humor, love for Audrey and his family were immediately obvious. We should all emulate his feelings. A good man with a life well lived. We send our condolences and love.
