LOUIS LIGHTFOOT Obituary
LOUIS N., Sr.
Age 92, of Penn Hills, peacefully, on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Beloved husband of 68 years to Sylvia (Kaniecki) Lightfoot; father of Louis N. (Lynne) Lightfoot, Jr., Richard (Deborah) Lightfoot, Marilyn Kuzmicki and Mary Catherine (the late Harry) Covol; grandfather of eight; great-grandfather of nine; also survived by many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Gertrude Lightfoot; and sister, Evelyn McPeak. Lou proudly served as a Sgt. in the US Air Force during WWII. He spent his spare time traveling, working in his woodshop and doing yard work. Friends received, Thursday, 2-8 p.m. at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD./ROTH CHAPEL, 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road), Penn Hills. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church where he was a member since 1952. Interment in Plum Creek Cemetery. To honor Lou's memory, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326.

To the Lightfoot Family... I spent most of my high school years in your home as Mary Kaye is one of my dearest friends. Dad was one of the most gentle souls ever placed on this planet. I am so so sorry I didn't find out about this sooner and feel like an absolute horrible "friend". I have wonderful memories of those great days spent in your home eating Mom's outstanding and always fresh chocolate chip cookies. May Dad RIP / dancing with the angels. Who know's, maybe he will run into my Mom or Dad!
