Dr. Louis Marco Trefonas

TREFONAS, DR. LOUIS MARCO Louis Marco Trefonas, 74, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away March 2, 2006. He was born in Chicago to Peter and Eugenia Trefonas. He was a renowned professor of chemistry and former vice president of research and graduate dean at University of Central Florida. Louis is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gail Trefonas, Rhododendron; son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Heidi Trefonas, Medway, Mass.; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Nick Keller, Castro Valley, Calif.; daughter, Jennifer Trefonas, Seattle; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Monica Trefonas, Sandy; son Paul Trefonas, London, England; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Elisabeth Trefonas, Jackson Hole, Wyo.; eight grandchildren, Alexa, Alexander, Andrew, Brandon, Payton, Peter, Sierra, and Tiffany; one brother, Peter Trefonas; and one sister, Katherine Stathakos, both of Chicago. We love you and will miss you! A wake in his honor will be 4 to 9 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Salerno's Galewood Chapels, Chicago. Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2006, at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, Chicago, officiated by Father Chris. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m., in Elmwood Cemetery, Chicago.
