My condolences to the family. Mrs. Broujos was a sweet sweet lady who was easy to love. She always had a interest in those she met and also a hug. I loved her baklava (delicious).

We were blessed at meeting Louise and John when my daughter became Lisa´s college roommate. They were the most loving, generous couple you could meet and provided an example of how to live a meaningful life that enriched their community.

Chocolate chip cookies!!! Our hearts are full of wonderful memories of the times we spent together. John said, "What a woman!" when he first saw her. He was so right. We love you all and feel so blessed to have been part of their life together.

What can you say about Situ? A lot! But none of it would do her full justice. She was an institution. It often felt like she was the center of gravity in the room, even when she was mostly silent except to cast me dirty looks and reprimand me for my obnoxious jokes and comments. She had a delightful edge to her even to her last days and never seemed shy about speaking her mind. But she was a paragon of human, Christian, and civic virtue. Even her reproving looks and mordant jibes were filled with love. I will remember her as a misfit who fit right in and as the matriarch of a truly wonderful family. Love you, Situ.

Louise (Weezie), I love and miss you dearly. My second Mother since 1970 when Nick and I met in 3rd grade at LeTort Elementary. I will miss the countless nights spent at the Broujos home and table. Thank you for the love throughout elementary, high school and college. And also for the understanding when Nicky and Ricky got it trouble that ONE time (or more). To the entire Broujos Family, I mourn with you but, also raise up her life well lived! Rick Price

While never having had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Broujos or her late husband, I have heard countless anecdotes from Nicky of the special parents he had. Nicky always spoke so lovingly of both his parents and indeed of his family upbringing. The fact that they are now reunited will hopefully give the extended Broujos family a sense of peace and happiness. We hope you can celebrate the life of an amazing lady over the coming days.
Sending our sympathies to you all at this sad time, especially Nicky, Fiona, Ciara and Colin.

To the Broujos kids and your families,
I'm very sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She truly left her mark here in Carlisle as I'm sure she did everywhere she went. I loved it that she always remembered me when we'd bump into each other and it does not surprise me she was still sharp and full of life in her last days.
Blessings to you all,
Karen (Moss) Meals

For the family of Louise Broujos: I knew your parents for some time when I worked as a legal secretary in Carlisle and also at the Army War College. My daughter, Lori Griffie Paulus and her husband Ron remember your mother as a teacher. We all send our sympathy to all of you. You can be happy that your mother had such a long, good life. God bless you all. By the way, I am flying to CA tomorrow (Oct 8) for a two-week visit with Lori and Ron and cannot attend your mother's service but all of you are in my prayers.

Mrs Broujos had a way of making you feel like you were the most special kid in the world. I´ll never forget her laughter filling the kitchen.

Louise´s chocolate chip cookies were outstanding. However, I would argue that her baklava was even more delicious-if that´s even possible. As to a time that Louise made me smile, all she had to do was say hello. Her natural warmth and shining eyes made you feel special and happy.

Dear Nicky, Greg, Melanie and Lisa.

Our heartfelt condolences to you and all the family following the loss of your dear mother Louise.

She was an important member of our extended family here in Ireland. She was beautiful inside and out; full of fun and laughter and always eager to share with us her wonderful stories and wise words. We even got to taste her famous, delicious cookies. It was a real privilege to have known her.

We know that you will miss her deeply. You are in our thoughts and prayers and we will be sending you much light for the difficult days ahead.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Ár chomhbhrón oraibh agus ar do mhuintir tar éis do mháthair daor Louise a chailleadh.

Ba bhall tábhachtach í dár muintir sínte anseo in Éirinn. Bhí sí go hálainn istigh agus amuigh; lán de spraoi agus gáire agus i gcónaí fonn a cuid scéalta iontacha agus focail ciallmhar a roinnt linn. Fuair muid fiú a cuid fianáin cháiliúla, blasta a bhlaiseadh. Ba phribhléid é aithne a chur uirthi.

Tá a fhios againn go mbeidh tú caillte gan í. Tá libh inár gcuid smaointe agus paidreacha agus beidh mórán solais á gcur chugat do na laethanta deacra atá amach romhainn.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

With much love from the Conway family, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, Ireland

Louise and John showed more hospitality to those that knew them than anyone else I have ever met. When I came to Carlisle to work for John in 1974, every Friday he would ask me, my wife, and our 1 year old to come his house for dinner which Louise would make. I think there is a lot of truth to it being Louise's baklava that got John elected to the state house.

So many fond memories of sitting around the Broujos kitchen table as a teen
with Mel and friends eating those CC cookies (and don't forget the best Syrian bread!) and talking and laughing with Mel and friends. And Mrs B joining right in. Wonderful lady and grateful for the memories and influence in our lives.

Greg, Nick, Melanie and Lisa ~ You are all in my thoughts and prayers for the loss of the most beautiful (inside and out!) lady I have ever known. Wonderful neighbor on Ridge St., lovely church friend, and AMAZING cook...yes, including the chocolate chip cookies! But also many great treats at church socials! She will be missed by many! But she now rests in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, and the other love of her life, her husband John. Rest in peace my friends!
