We recently passed the 60th anniversary of the day Mrs Cooley saved my life. What remarkable courage she had! I've tried to imagine how it must have looked to her as she approached the scene. The whole thing amazes me still.

Dearest life long friends...

next door neighbors...
the Girard's and the Cooley's...
Florence and Sandy...
our Fathers' band "The Heartbeats"...
Easter Sundays and Hats...
Football in the frontyard...

We go way back...Susan, Mary, Helen, and "Weezie".

Your Mother lived a long, wonderful life... filled with love, family, children, friendships, good health, travel, amazing education, hobbies...and, sharing 67 years with your Dad and her beloved husband, Denton.

Each one of you girls, along with your Dad, your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, can rejoice...
knowing your Mother lived her life to the fullest and that you were so blessed to have had her in your lives for so long.

God has her nearby, a seat next to Him in Heaven...where we all want to be someday. Do not be sad, but grateful...and keep her memory alive through pictures and great stories.There... you will find peace and be comforted, always.

We all love her,too ~

To the Cooley family, my heartfelt condolences. My late mother, Amy Richardson Volgamore was a schoolmate of Dr. Denton and I know she helped welcome his beloved Louise into Heaven.

I'm Bob Taylor. When I was 7, Mrs Cooley, who was, as far as I know, THE first responder to the Poe School playground bombing, saved my life. Her heroism, charging onto that field not knowing that other explosions weren't imminent, amazes me to this day. I will always be grateful to her.

Dear Dr. Cooley,
May fond memories of your wife bring you comfort during this hard time in your life. Look back on all the good memories you were able to have and smile at the fact that you were able to share these before she passed away. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Cousin Louise & Dr. Denton Cooley were wonderful to me when I lived in Houston for about a year. I very much enjoyed her visits to Frederick as well. With much love, Freddy

Louise was a college suite mate and sorority sister of my Mom's, Edythe M. Wakefield Traylor. They remained close friends until my Mom's passing in 1998. I have fond memories of sharing get-togethers and a few dinners with Louise, Denton and the girls. Louise was always caring, vibrant and had a sparkle in her eye.
