Louise Jones passed away with her 2 daughter's at her side at her daughter's home in Hammond on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the age of 84. She was a native of Texas, a resident of Metairie and spent 13 years at Westminister Towers in Kenner. Louise graduated from Texas Tech University majoring in English and Pre med. After meeting the love of her life, Daris Coleman Jones, she traded her dream of becoming a doctor and became a mother instead. She was a social worker for 30 years and retired after 20 years of being a social worker with Orleans Parish Social Services Department. She was a member of Metairie United Methodist Church since 1984. She is survived by her children, John Thornton Jones (Rita), Catherine Helmstetter Swicegood and Diane Alesia Migliore. Loving grandmother of Christian Helmstetter, Heidi Alison Barnett, Stephanie Louise Wagner Eudy, Petty Officer 1st Class Cayce Thomas, Amanda Marie Barnett, Bryanne Swicegood Mader and Andrew Coleman Swicegood. Great-grandmother of Brittany Elizabeth Mader, Nathan John Eudy, Paris Alesia Rains, Aleya Diane Barnett, Hailey Abigail Mader, Adrian James Coleman Burchfield, Kyra Natasha Eudy, Ashton Michael Stevenson, Addison Riley Helmstetter, Natalie Catherine Mader, Marshall Coleman Swicegood, Lilly Elise Swicegood, Owen Jacob Helmstetter and the late Cayden Robert Barnett and Alyssa Catherine Barnett. She was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents, John M. Elliot, Jr. and Inez Thornton Elliott. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Sevice at L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
