Memorial services for Louise F. Owen, 100, of Tyler are scheduled for Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Lloyd James Funeral Home with the Reverend David Luckenbach officiating. A private burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mrs.. Owen passed away, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Hospice of East Texas Home Place. She was born April 10, 1916 in Henderson to William and Eufaula Freeze.

The family later moved to Nacogdoches where she was valedictorian of her high school graduating class of 1934. Louise moved to Tyler shortly thereafter where she met Jack Owen. They were married in 1938 and celebrated 63 years of marriage before Jack's death in September of 2001

Louise is survived by her son Cliff Owen of Houston, daughter Alexandra Jenkins of Dallas, daughter Wyndell Westmoreland of Nacogdoches and son Robert Owen of Tyler. She is also survived by grandchildren Lee Westmoreland and Robert Jenkins and wife Janelle. Louise adored her two great grandchildren Jack Jenkins and Caroline Jenkins. She is also survived by nieces Harviann Perry and Anne Paugh, as well as cousins Nina Buckley, Sam Guerin, Jr. and Hal Bertram. Two special friends, Val Harness and Bill Elliott were also very close to Louise

The family wishes to thank Louise's loving caregivers Candyce Jacobs and Mary Norris, as well as Nia, Monica, Ebony, Bre and Raven of Candy Cares.

Visitation is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. at Lloyd James Funeral Home immediately preceding the Memorial Service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tyler Museum of Art, The Hospice of East Texas or the charity of your choice.

We were honored to have Mrs. Owen live at our community for so many years. She was so kind and gracious. She always had a kind word for everyone. She will be missed greatly by our staff and residents.
