Farmington - Lowell William Coomer, born on August 28, 1940, in Fort Smith, AR entered the gates of heaven on June 17, 2025, in Bentonville, AR. He was the son of Ralph and Helen Coomer.
Lowell lived a full, wonderful life marked by his love for family, hard work, and adventurous spirit. Everyone he encountered along his journey was a better person for having met Lowell Coomer. The way in which he carried himself daily; with an abundance of grace, compassion, love and a willingness to lend a helping hand, is something to be admired and will be dearly remembered by all those who had the privilege to know him.
Though he was Arkansas born and bred, Lowell's adventurous spirit sent him on a journey that saw him explore some of the most beautiful places on earth. After graduating from Fort Smith High School, Lowell attended the University of Arkansas before embarking on a career as a salesman in the clothing and jewelry industries. From the hills of Arkansas to Yellowstone National Park, to the beaches of California, Lowell lived and traveled all over the United States during these young business days. It was during this time he was blessed enough to meet his future wife Denora at the Dallas Market. He and Denora would settle in Boulder, Colorado and start a family.
Lowell moved the family back home to Fort Smith in 1983 and began a very successful career as a general contractor and home inspector. He was only the 2nd licensed home inspector in the state of Arkansas and played an integral part in shaping the laws and regulations for home inspecting in the Natural State. He was appointed to and spent many years on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Real Estate Inspectors Association. Throughout his 40+ years as a home inspector he was well known for his dedication to the craft, attention to detail and integrity.
While Lowell was a highly respected businessman, nothing gave him more joy and made him come alive like time spent with his family. Nearly every weekend you could find the Coomer family on Lake Tenkiller where Lowell would eventually build his dream lake house. He loved anything to do with the water. He was a certified master diver and loved taking the family to the crystal-clear waters of Cozumel, Belize, and Honduras.
His most cherished title was "Papa Low". He loved attending his grandchildren's events and was always there to encourage and support them. He would teach them life lessons in hard work, manners, and how there's a time for work and a time for play.
Lowell Coomer's legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who love him. He is loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed until we see him again in heaven.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife Denora Coomer, son Jeremiah Coomer and Melanie Coomer, daughter Cheyanne Plunkett and Ryan Williams, and 6 treasured grandchildren; Skyler, Cole, Chloe, Brooks, Ashton, and Reese. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ralph and Helen Coomer, and brother's Ralph and Jonathan Coomer.
A private service to honor the life and legacy of Lowell William Coomer will be held at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
