Loyd J. Rockhold

I remember Uncle Rock every day. He always said he had battles to fight, wars to win, and worlds to conquer! That’s my Rocky Baby! He did all those things, especially conquering my heart ❤

I remember Mr. Rockhold as my Scoutmaster at Troop 4 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Baton Rouge in the late 1950's. He was a wonderful man and a great Scout leader. I owe him a debt of gratitude and will always appreciate his service to young men.

Terry, Ann and I loved Rock very much. We just found out and will miss his laugh and His wisdom. He will forever be in my heart. We are here for you. Richard Harrington

a great Marine and one of the nicest people that you would ever want to meet. From the first moment i met him
at my first Marine Corps League meeting
Rock made me feel welcome. He was the detachment commandant at the time. Everytime i think of Rock a smile comes to my face. I'm sorry we will not be able to attend Rock's memorial
service, as we are still over here in Texas. We love you and thank God for allowing us to have you and Rock in our lives.

I remember the good old days at the Bridge Club. Mr. Rock was a kind, good natured person. Every time I saw him he always had a smile and a joke to make you laugh. We will miss him. God bless you, the family and Mr. Rock.

The world is a better place because of his generosity to those in the greatest need through the Special Children's Foundation. What a wonderful legacy to leave.

Terry,Sharon,Jan,Gloria,Meli,and the whole Rockhold family.---Uncle Loyd may be gone,but the wonderful memories will never be gone. The memory of him always caring and helping others.The memory of our good times at Superior Grill and Ninfas resterants,the memory of his joy of living and his wonderful laugh. Papa Rock was a wonderful soul. He always accepted me as one of the family. I will miss his hugs and his genuine interest in my life. He will be missed. We love you all. Please let us know if you need anything.

Ms. Terry, Marie & Family: I hold such fond memories of Mr. Rock, Ms. Terry and my visit to Baton Rouge many years ago. I'm sure that heaven is celebrating to have their newest arrival and all the joy he brings. Love to you all.

To the Rockhold Family, Uncle Loyd will be greatly missed by many. His infectious laugh, his optimism, his love of life and family was an example for all. He always helped the underdog and tried to be fair to with everyone. I'll miss hearing him call me 'Baby Darling' and asking about my family and the Judge. Rest in peace Uncle Loyd and enjoy the reunion.

To Terry and all of Mr. Rock's family, we want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you. We were fortunate to know him and learn how much he did for his family. He was special to our daughter in law, Sandy, our son, Scot, and 2 grandchildren, Berton & Hadley. He was also the life of the party and made everyone have a good time when he was around.

Sharon, Jan, Gloria, Meli, Terry, Evelyn, and the entire Rockhold family-He will live forever in my heart. My family and I have loved him since our Emmanuel Baptist Church days when he worked with the youth and gave us his time and inspiration.
He wanted to serve the Lord in any way he could and he did.
I am glad he was my friend and mentor.

Dear Sharon, and to all the Rockhold family:

Mr. Loyd was a wonderful man in every way. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I know you are hurting -- but I celebrate his generous, giving life! His donations to the Arthritis Foundation and Arthritis Association of Louisiana enriched the lives of dozens of children with this painful disease, as well as their families. Mr. Loyd will be much missed, but his legacy will never be forgotten.

My sympathies, love and caring go out to the family. May he rest in peace! I know he has gone to his reward!

Rock was a Great Man and leader who touched far too many life's to detail here, a MAJOR part of my life for many years, all the way back to the 50's.
