First and foremost, my symmpathy to Snyder family for thier loss.
I served with and under Omar at Travis AFB between 1974 and 75. He was the quintessential officer and gentleman. As a new maintenance officer I learned much from him. It was once said that if there was a group of officers in a room and you were asked which one was a commander you would pick out Omar. Tall, straight, and dignified. At Travis he commanded the largest Field Maintenance Squadron in the Air Force at that time and he did so with perfection. He was much admired, respected, and liked by his senior non-commissioned officers. The statement that he led by example is an understatement.
I counted Omar as a good friend and I will miss him dearly.

I fondly remember the friendship between Omar and my Father and Mother. They were able to visit with Omar quite recently; I am glad of it. Thank you, Omar, for your service to our country. My deepest sympathies to all of Omar's family and friends.

I am glad to have known Omar. I have respected Him as a person. On Veteran's Day, I always called him to thank him for his service to our country. I will miss him, but I've got fond memories of him.
