Lucetta Kinney Zaytoun

I recently moved back to W-S and sadly learned of Lucetta´s death. We were once besties AND won the three legged race in city finals, I think in sixth grade. Reading of her life´s accomplishments makes me beam that I knew her, but sad I was too late

I am so sorry to hear of Lucetta's passing. I met her in the Quantum Leap program and she was such an inspiration. I hadn't spoken to her in the last couple of years, I lost track of her when she moved to CA. Our last conversations were when she was battling mold-related illnesses in the clinic in Florida (at least that what she had told me, now I wonder if that's what it really was). Regardless, I am deeply saddened, heart broken. She was a wonderful lady and a beautiful soul. My heart goes out to all of her family and friends. You have my deepest condolences. I will always carry a piece of her with me.

She was such an inspiration to me. I was hoping we could continue our friendship. She is missed. Loved her.

Lucetta truly was an unforgettable shining light. Knowing her enriched my life. She embodied Love, Kindness and Joy. Just thinking of her puts a smile on my face. I hope to see her again when I cross to the other side. Lyn Kirby

When I was young, my older brothers and I would go to the Moravian Sunrise Service on Easter. We then went to breakfast with the Donald Kinney Family. Lucetta always had a bright outlook.

At family gatherings, we looked forward to updates on Lucetta. We celebrated , mourned with, loved and were awed by her spirit.

May God bless and keep her family in His care today and always. May Lucetta rest in peace knowing a life well lived in God's arms.

Lucetta and I were teenage friends in Winston-Salem, NC. Friend magnet indeed. She had the most generous, joyful, fun and uplifting spirit, and invited me to participate in her Moravian choir where I saw firsthand her deep faith that carried her through her extraordinary and loving life. I send my deep condolences to Lucetta's entire family.

Although I did not have the privilege of meeting this beautiful soul in person. Reading this beautifully written obituary as a glimpse of amazing life explains so much about the love that lives in her son David.

David your kindness, your push for your family's happiness, your many sacrifices is a seed that your mom will always water inside of you.

Lucetta, and her brother John, and sister Martha went to grade school through High School together with my siblings and I. Our Family is so sorry to learn of her passing, and very inspired by this written Tribute by her Family. Just like her friends and family who describe her, I was "in awe" of this friendly, kind, sunny girl whom we got in trouble together for talking during class in sixth grade! Lucetta went on to live her extraordinary Life.

I love Lucetta so much! She was and will always be such a beautiful soul and have a huge place in my heart. She and Robert "adopted" me when I went to Peace College and were my second parents. Went through high school with Lucetta. She was next to me as we sat through graduation. She was truly a wonderful person and always nice to everyone. I´m sure the world was a better place because of her.

She was such an inspiration to me. I knew her for a short time but really loved her. Prayers for all her family. She will be missed.

While traveling to see family via plane, Georgia to California. My amazing husband, being the traveler that he is, hates to fly. We were blessed to be seated next to Lucetta. Upon take off, Lucetta noticed how uncomfortable my husband was and began speaking to him. We both knew right away that this was a soul belonging to a beautiful person. We spoke throughout the entire flight and we so comfortable with the stranger we had met. Lucetta shared her info with us, upon returning from our travels, we quickly connected via social media and watched as Lucetta lived her life out loud. Fly free Lucetta and thank you for being the beautiful soul we met on a plane. The Shafers.

I met Lucetta ten years ago through our local coaching chapter. She had a bright and beautiful aura about her. What a precious tribute to describe the light and essence she was. I feel blessed our paths crossed when they did and will forever treasure my time in her presence. My deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends. What a beautiful legacy she leaves this world.

My heart is heavy with this news. I grew up with Lucetta in NC and she was a great friend to me. I am glad to read about her life and happy that she lead a fulfilling life. May her memory be eternal.

I was blessed to know Lucetta through our time together at West Forsyth. Her light for GOD was obvious then....and Praise THE LORD, HE continued to put her willing spirit to work growing HIS KINGDOM throughout a life well lived. Great lady and great friend...the family has much to be proud of.

I met Lucetta in Tanzania. I was going through my own life struggles. She was so encouraging to me and so open. She had a presence about her that lit up a room. Even though we only met for a few weeks, my life has been changed for the better knowing her.

To her friends and family, you have my condolences.

I was a classmate of Lucetta's @ West where she cheered many a win/loss of our football team when I played! I last saw her at our 40th class reunion & bought her book too! It was a great read as much as she was a beautiful person! She was a pleasure for all knew her! Just an awesome human being! This ole world needs many more Lucetta's in this world! May she RIP and my deepest sympathies to the family!

We first met Lucetta when she first began dating Robert. Lucetta had a beautiful smile and infectious, loving personally. It was easy for us to fall in love with her and become a life long friend.

I met Lucetta at West Forsyth High School many years ago. Then after high school we both worked at Le Chateau restaurant in downtown Winston-Salem. She was always so sweet and so much fun to work with. What a beautiful tribute for a beautiful lady. I am so sorry for your loss!
